I can somehow relate that the flat ribbon cable used has the same classic vibe as the headphones and also gives it a rather unique styling. It still makes me scratch my head since its shiny retro look seems to loosen the tightly-themed aesthetic. So whilst these don’t have the most exciting treble performance out there, they have good tonality up top and it’s composed without every becoming troublesome. The nice thing about the treble here is that, whilst slightly subdued, the Ghost is not missing detail or air at all. Instrument Separation and Soundstaging The treble, oh....just wow, this is the incredible part of Ghost sound spectrum and sure what will hook your attention the most and certainly don't let you indifferent. Thieaudio is a well established chinese audio company, closely connected to Linsoul audio distributor. They have launch multiple hybrid IEM and headphones, mostly plana, like the Phantom. Staged-out guitars are placed accurately and directionality is easy to understand. It is with subtler chimes that even when there is silence around, I sometimes find it hard to grasp as a solid image which I put some liability to the tuning.Comfort is a highlight. At 345g, the Athena has noticeable but well-distributed weight. The soft padding distributes clamping force nicely. The Ether-style ear pads use perforated pleather on the inside and suede exteriors. They feel great - soft and comfortable. Overall, the Athena is easy to wear for long periods.

Surprisingly, the Athena's frequency response closely resembles headphones like the ZMF Atrium Closed and Caldera - more so the latter. The graphical differences align with my listening impressions. To be clear, the Athena is not nearly the same caliber as the Caldera - side by side, the Caldera's performance gap is glaring, as expected given the huge price delta. However, I can safely say these headphones share a tonal balance that fits my preferences. But it is the HD560s that becomes more comfortable since it is roomier thanks to the angled drivers tilting away from the ears and the wider pad opening.
