About this deal

Power Method:- Passive Power over Ethernet (48V)- 802.3af/802.3at Supported (Supported Voltage Range: 44 to 57VDC) Normally for in-house use would the 2 lite ap’s be more than enough. Personally, I always use an LR on the ground floor (so it extends also a bit into the garden) and a lite on the first floor. With an apartment, two lite’s would be enough.

I discovered that Ubiquiti has a UniFi Cloud Key that runs the UniFi Controller software. Although I haven't tried one yet, I suspect that using it with the UAP's would make setup much easier, as setting up a computer and all that it entails is not necessary. Are you aware that the US-8-150w supports 24V Passive PoE? No need for the injector but I believe you need to manually configure the PoE mode in the controller if using 24V. The BaseStation only offers a 5Ghz Tri-band radio, so no 2.4Ghz radio. You can choose between Small Cell and Large Cell setup, allowing you to optimize the installation for maximum coverage. There is no web interface on the AP's. If you aren't going to use the Controller software, then you can configure them using the iOS or Android app, but it doesn't allow you do much more than the basics. You would need to use the SSH command shell to get more granular. The distance from my condo to the parking spot is not so long, about 40 meters. Meanwhile high density WiFi add lots of interferences so my target spot has very weak signal even with outdoor AP devices having direct vision. Note I have split the table in two, in the first table you will find all ceiling and wall mounted access points, and in the second the In-Wall and Range Extenders. The controller is the home laptop with installed Unifi windows software. I don’t need to keep him running always. That is just professional tools to supervise and manage professional Access Point. The last access points that we are going to take a look at in the UniFi AP comparison are the high density and enterprise models.

But with the release of the Unifi 6 Lite, I think that is about the change. Both have almost the same throughput, only the 5Ghz is a bit faster. But the advantage of the 6 Lite is that it supports WiFi 6 with OFDMA allowing it to handle more clients simultaneously. I just opened the switch config and under Port Management selected that port and changed Link Speed from Auto-Negotiation to 1gbps FDX. That causes the UAP to not provide internet to wireless devices and only the 1 amber light on the switch port is on to signify POE, but the link light is off. The UAP itself is on and solid blue as it should be, my devices do find the SSID broadcasting but cannot establish connection to it (most likely because it's not getting dhcp through the AP). They also support fancy names for your APs, which I like. I do enjoy naming them after NSA surveillance programs (PRISM, BULLRUN, XKEYSCORE, etc). So another guy asking the same question: Which access point on which floor? Two smaller ones or one long range per story? Excellent WiFi AP and SDN product, and far better than anything else I've used for the price and the software quality after some playing, and an initially annoying setup. But I still give it 5 stars despite that, because everything has worked beautifully since then.In this case, the device is unable to resolve the controller. The controller should be available on https://unifi:8443. If that is working then there is a reason why the Unifi AP can’t connect to it. It might be in the wrong IP range (that was the problem in this case), or it can be a DNS issue. Ubiquiti makes in my opinion the best access points that you can buy these days. They offer a wide variety of Access Points (AP) in their UniFi product line that gives you the best value for money. But which access point should you buy? I am going to help you with the comparison of the different models.
