Virgin will not remove them. If you really need to take them off, just use a screwdriver to unscrew the screws. You'll have to cut the cable and seal the hole up. Ok - is that splitter on the outside of my house (the one where you've suggested I can merely use a barrel connector for the incoming signal to the house) ok to use in the loft rather than purchasing another one? Do I need to pay much heed to that 4db and 3.6db inputs i.e. if I moved this splitter to the loft would I need to follow the inputs as they were on the outside of the house - main input feed (for Tivo and Router) 4db whilst the 3.6db is used for the second cable box? The table below estimates signal loss occurring on a two-way and four-way splitter, in addition to insertion loss. Keep in mind this table is only an estimate and you may find slightly different estimates elsewhere. The splitter’s impedance should match the impedance of connected devices. For instance, for OTA TV, this is 75 ohms VM won’t send equipment like this out, especially if it involves multiple splitting of a balanced signal.

I can definitely take off the cover to take a look before I do anything - the only issue is once it's open I'll have zero clue what it is I'm looking at! But yes, it's certainly my impression (hopefully not incorrect) that any wiring related to other flats wouldn't be dependent on wiring in my living room. No sense there! In this scenario, you’ll insert one end of the antenna coax into the splitter’s input port, then attach two more coax cables to the splitter’s output ports, and run each of these cables to a TV set. To use an aftermarket cable receiver, you just plug it in, connect up your VM cable and scan for Channels at your location (set net ID) I am considering moving my V6 boxes to beside the router in the hall as the remotes do not require line of sight to work. The splitter has cable running out of it to the 3 seperate rooms. I am struggling to establish which cable should become the input for the splitter and from where it should connect. The question I have is around how to cable it. I will be running an ethernet cable down to the cellar from the existing superhub, into a cupboard that will house a second router/switch, then from there to each of the rooms (probably 2 ethernet ports in each room, but maybe only 1). Whilst I am running the cat5 I want to get the cabling for multiroom in place. I had thought that the coax cable that comes from the VM feed for the second Tivo can drop down through the same hole from the main living room (where it currently enters through a hole that takes the first coax) and into the same cupboard where I could then put some sort of distribution in. I haven't decided exactly where the second Tivo will live but I want to have the option to use it in any of the 3 rooms. Is that possible? Do I need to have VM do this or can I do it myself? And what sort of cable and distribution box do I need to use? I am hoping that I can simply use some sort of cable splitter that has 1 in and 3 or more out. Is there such a thing? Each morning, I have programmed the Harmony to switch on the TV at 7am. When it does this, I get both picture and sound from the V6 box! I wanted to have a look inside that box, but it appears to require some form of flower-shaped nut-spinner, as they have not used standard screws, as upstairs. Keep in mind that cable splitters vary in both quality and frequency range. Quality might affect how much signal loss occurs on the splitter, and frequency range should be matched to the types of signals you’re splitting.Turbo boost your credit chances and get your free Experian credit report.
