The Hisense 65A6G has poor peak brightness in HDR. It isn't bright enough to show off highlights in HDR, and without a local dimming feature, small highlights don't pop against the rest of the screen. It follows the target PQ curve fairly well for dark scenes, but there's a sharp roll-off at the peak brightness, causing a loss of fine details in bright scenes. Even its upscaling of HD isn’t at all bad, adding at least a little texture and detail without exaggerating noise.

What this basically means is the more Dolby Vision content you can feed the A6G, the better the HDR will look. Thankfully Dolby Vision dominates the main video streaming services and is used by Netflix, Disney+ and Apple TV. Hisense A6G Review (43A6G, 50A6G, 55A6G, 58A6G, 60A6G, 65A6G
There are similar models available in the US, known as the A6GX Series TVs, but they're different because they use a different operating system. In Canada, this model is the Hisense A68G, and the results are also valid for it. As Hisense's lineup differs in other countries, the results aren't valid for any similarly-named models internationally. The Hisense A6G is a superior budget 4K TV that could easily pass for something more premium. Key attractions include Dolby Vision HDR and strong streaming service options, but there are limitations if you’re a serious gamer. The Hisense A6G is an entry-level 4K HDR LED TV that’s nicely designed, well made, and very competitively priced.
