About this deal
Some high-end (AKA more expensive) mini LED rivals provide far more dimming zones than that, it has to be said. Experience suggests, though, that it's not always how many zones you've got that counts, but what you do with them. Also, some mini LED rivals, such as the Samsung QN85A and LG's QNED ranges, use IPS LCD panels that typically deliver weaker contrast than VA designs. VRR eliminates lag, judder and frame tearing effects for fluid and better detailed gameplay. This TV is 144hz VRR native: the highest standard in the TV industry and perfect for e-sport games and FPS.: smoother and seamless gameplay without any tearing. AMD Freesync premium for serious gamers with a fluid, tear-free gameplay experience at peak performance. The remote control is worthy of praise, kept nicely simple, with those six service-specific one-touch keys and a top circle to activate voice control. That’s not to say the screen is a bust for gaming, of course. Not everyone has a PS5, Xbox Series X or one of the latest Nvidia or AMD high-end PC graphics cards, after all, and the screen only takes a very respectable 16.2ms to render image data when running in its Game mode. It’s currently the case, too, that only very premium TVs tend to support the latest game features, so you won’t find such support on any of the 65C815K’s similarly priced rivals. I’m in a bright room, so I don’t think OLED’s are for me at the moment, until they start to get them brighter in a few years.
Review: TCL 65C835 (C835-serie) LCD LED TV
Equally Bezel Less and also slightly slimmer than the norm at 30mm, the C835 is another impressive contender that gives you some serious value-for-money considerations. At the time of writing, the 75-inch model wasn’t lined up for a UK release, but we’ll keep you posted if anything changes. Size / Model (UK)
TCL’s 4K Mini LED TVs for 2022
Below is a list of all of the core UHD models added to TCL’s line-up this year, along with some of the key specifications that set each one apart from its siblings. As with all other manufacturers, there’s a natural trade-off between pricing and the quality of the features list, so you might want to consider both your budget and what you’ll mostly be using the TV for (along with your broader set-up and surroundings) to help fine-tune the right choice. With advanced Hands-Free voice control combined to Google Assistant, TCL's Android TV makes life smart and simple. The C735 boasts the same enhanced Ai PQ2.0 processor with Deep Learning, and also the use of a Quantum Dot filter, but not the same kind of upgrades to brightness or its audio system. It still offers a 144Hz native resolution, plus the full set of HDR support as the Mini LEDs, and the likes of ‘Ultra’ anti-reflection, Motion Clarity Supreme, Adaptive Picture and the Ultra-Wide viewing angle. It is also the last model in this list to come with Game Master Pro, Game Bar functionality and FreeSync Premium, so if you want the best gaming platform then this might be your best ‘cheapest’ option.

TCL might not quite carry the same household name as the likes of Samsung, LG, Panasonic, or Sony in western markets, but the Chinese company remains the number two TV manufacturer in the world when it comes to market share – and is continuing to expand into Europe and the US as it aspires to that number one spot. This year’s line-up looks to build nicely upon what’s gone before it, offering a wealth of potentially good-looking upgrades across the board. The latest standard for UHD content is High Dynamic Range. 4K HDR PREMIUM 1000 provides a superior High Dynamic Range experience with high brightness, exceptional shadow detail and vivid accurate colours. The features, and especially the cost compared to some of the other TV’s on the market today. You could also take a similar approach to the Movie mode settings, if you don’t mind colours looking quite substantially flatter.
