Description

All of these add to the value. If you want to be 100% sure of its provenance then some documentary evidence would be needed. Markings Dienstglas The 6x30 was the type commonly issued to NCO and officers. According to 'Deutsche Soldaten' they were issued to the squad leader independent of rank.[1] They The 1888 GeW Commission Rifle, which was not designed by Mauser, fired a 227-gr bullet at about 2,100 fps from a 29.5 inch barrel. Some of the later confusion on velocities comes from the older 1898 WWI Mauser and the shorter barrel K98 of WWII. Also, the bodies look like cast iron! and what is the mount thingy that is on the axle? Looks very heavy duty. In WWII, the infantry went to a shorter K98 rifle, which launched the 154-gr flat based bullet at 2,805 fps, and the 197.5 grain boattail at 2,494 fps.

There were several Porro II binoculars made, including French ones, as others have indicated. A vendor is claiming that the 6x30 British Mk. 3 binocular had a Porro II design. The civilian Zeiss Septar 7x50 seems to be particularly desirable. Carl Zeiss, Ernst Leitz, Swarovski and Voightlander. Up to 1940 they carried the maker's name and as well as the word 'Dienstglas'which means Welcome to BirdForum, the internet's largest birding community with thousands of members from all over the world. The forums are dedicated to wild birds, birding, binoculars and equipment and all that goes with it.There are also many fine and not so fine 56 mm roof prism binoculars which can be very good indeed. I like these a lot as a step up from the 10 x 50. I prefer the 12 x 56 but there are also 8×10×13×15 times and 16×56.

Let's note here that commercial rifles continued to be built in .318 into the 1950s. FN produces bolt action 8x57s in the 1950s which were .318 bore, so be aware!! The same is true of some drillings and combination guns produced from 1905 to 1939.. still. .318 inch bores. Get somebody to measure your pupils in dim light with a ruler and add 10%. That will give you an idea of your pupil size in a moderately dark sky.

Condition

One could make a reasonably impressive '8x60' for astronomical observation by using 60mm f/3.5 objectives, 27mm Panoptic eyepieces (AFoV 68 deg.) and either 45 or 90 degree roof prisms. For better performance, the fast objectives should be aspherized, as I did for my 50mm lenses in my bino pictured in the avatar to the left. Things are much simplified if the user has sufficient interpupillary spacing so that a straight-through configuration is possible. What are peoples thoughts on this set? I don't know enough to comment on the tech detail beyond what I read here on the forum, so I know that BK-7 is referring to the internal prisms at least. Thought it would be good to here from experts here so anyone who might like a punt on a set of these would have more information to go on, beyond the usual sensible advice of testing a set in store before you buy. Firearms manufactured at Österreichische Waffenfabriksgesellschaft / Steyr-Daimler-Puch / Steyr Mannlicher Cases were formed with RCBS Kropatshcek dies (no trimming required) and lathe turned (bevel) on an Emcomat-3 Miniature lathe ( and lately, on a Hercus ARL (similar to a Southbend). Firstly, the fully coated or fully multicoated description was actually in the flesh a single coat on the front and a single coat on the rear eyepiece surface. . All other surfaces were completely uncoated.
