Not to worry! There’s still plenty of ways you can learn how to pair your Aeropex or mute the mic on your Air. These are best used with the headphones’ earplug mode, which lowers the volume reduces the bass significantly, compensating for the effect of closing your ear canals (sounds transmitted through bone conduction always sound deeper, and with earplugs you’re not hearing any ‘leaking’). Vocal booster mode, on the other hand, boosts the higher frequencies. These headphones new, organic, wraparound design is about 20% lighter than previous Titanium version which allows a more flexible fit. This leads to a more unnoticeable comfort and stability for wearing. The headphones have clear high-end frequency sound, which makes vocals sound great and the headphones great if you listen to a lot of spoken word content or listen to podcasts. The mid frequencies also sound good, but I do wish that they were a little more pronounced, unfortunately, there’s no companion app for these headphones but you could adjust the EQ in your music app of choice.
On the flip side, ambient noise can, of course, distract you from your content. This is less of a problem than you might think—something about the bone conduction "centers" the sound perceptually, and it was generally very easy to distinguish between ambient audio and content, with little difficulty ignoring the former and concentrating on the latter. These are rated IP55 and are sweat proof and rain proof, but please note this doesn’t mean waterproof. These can hold up to a varied use over many different temperatures and weather combinations. Sound QualityFirst and foremost, these headphones are no match for a pair of in-ear earbuds, they will provide far better sound quality than these headphones – but these headphones have a specific purpose because of how they sound. Unfortunately, I’ve not been able to try other bone conduction headphones, so this is my perspective of these headphones as someone who is predominantly a user of regular-style headphones and earbuds. Of course, these will feel different to regular headphones when you first put them on, but their design characteristics make them fade away and prevent them from being distracting. As someone who has not used bone conduction headphones before, I was impressed with how pleasant these were to wear. Sound Quality It is an odd feeling at first and definitely takes some getting used to as most of us have only used in ear headphones our entire lives.
That said, if you're just after the Shokz Trekz Air for fitness use, then the battery will be great and easily last a marathon for nearly everyone.

Also, some race coordinators don't allow you to wear anything in your ears, which is where a headphone like the The AfterShokz Trekz Air are headphones for a very specific user, someone that wants to be able to listen to music or podcasts but needs to be fully aware of their surroundings. I think this makes the headphones great for those that do outdoor sports such as running or cycling as they allow you to listen to music but also be safe and allow you to have additional situational awareness in comparison to what a standard pair of headphones or earbuds would give you. The headphones have a niche audience, but perform well at what they set out to do.
