My daughter was diagnosed with a TT after quite a bit of weight loss and being told it was my milk that wasn't good enough. It was a breast feeding consultant at a clinic at my sure start centre that referred me and she had it cut five days later. In the meantime I was topping up with expressed and formula as well as feeding her so I know how hard you are finding it and how tired you must be! You are doing a great job, it can't be easy for you at the mo. Do you have a pump? If you are aiming to continue to breastfeed pumping will prob help keep it going until the tongue-tie is sorted -would recommend trying to get to a breastfeeding clinic Monday for support. Giving him formula now sounds as its best for both of you, to give you time to recover! If expressing works for you then you could give that by bottle instead. Please note that we are unable to ship to the Channel Islands, Northern Ireland, Post Office boxes and BFPO.

Don't feel like a failure your certainly not. However no exactly how you feel as I had the same, and after a few tearful days I came to conclusion bottle feeding was my only option. Suitable for babies from birth and aged 0-6 Months*. For 6-12 Months, use Aptamil Advanced 2 Follow On Baby Milk Formula Liquid 6-12 Months 200ml.

Suitable for infants from birth up to 6 months*. For 6-12 Months, use Aptamil 2 Follow On Baby Milk Formula Liquid 6-12 Months 200ml. Approx. age: 1 week*, Approx. weight: 3.5kg, 7 3/4lb, Single feed: 30-70ml, No of feeds per 24 hours: 6 Thanks everyone for your comments. Had a breakthrough today by using nipple shields. Baby is feeding well on both breasts which will hopefully allow my nipples to heal, and my really sore boob has massively reduced in size too after 2-3 feeds. So along with some expression for tonight's late night feed and more skin to skin in night with shields, hoping the formula will not be needed again! Breastfeeding is recommended from birth onwards with the introduction of appropriate weaning foods around six months. Talk to a healthcare professional.

Newborn babies may take only small amounts of infant formula to start with. Assumes weaning at 6 months. Your baby may need more or less than the feeding guide above. This information is given as a guide only. Consult your healthcare professional if you require more advice. I found the best way to help with sore nipples was to squeeze a little milk onto them and let them air dry. They healed so much better than any creams and also cold Savoy cabbage leaves in your bra. As required by legislation, First infant milk is nutritionally complete and suitable as a sole source of nutrition from birth and as part of a varied weaning diet from 6 months. Regarding the starter bottle, if he only takes a small amount, can it be used for a later feed tonight? How long does it last?

I'm really struggling to breast feed my 1 week old boy at the moment due to bleeding nipples and he was diagnosed with a tongue tie yesterday. He has been hysterical today, fighting me when I try to get him to latch on, so my hubby has just suggested using a starter bottle of aptamil we bought just in case. I'm sat here devastated watching him drink a bottle and feel like a failure. I'm so scared my milk will dry up. I think I may even have mastitis in one boob so I'm going to try and express now.
