Powerful for its size – the 1300W motor can handle tougher grass that smaller mowers often struggle withis a suitable width for narrower gardens too, so if you are working in confined spaces or have an irregular shaped lawn that requires more complex manoeuvring, the narrower width should accommodate you fine.

The Rotak 34R has a 34cm hardened steel blade that produces a clean, precise cut on every pass. Like with any mower with a steel blade, the occasional bit of maintenance is needed for this blade, although it will most be sharpening after it dulls but this takes several years to happen. This mower is still limited to small lawns though, due to its size. We wouldn’t use it for anything larger than 300 square metres – otherwise you’ll be mowing all day. Mulching Relatively Easy Assembly – It’s not as easy as pulling it out of the box and you’re ready to go; there is a little bit of work required on your part. But it shouldn’t be too difficult for you either, especially if you’ve assembled a few garden tools in the past. You’ll need to connect the handle and put together the grass basket. The latter task is the one that most people seems to struggle with, as the basket does feel a bit flimsy (on the plus side that does mean the mower overall is lighter) and might take you a few attempts to clip together. The handle on the Bosch Rotak 34 lawn mower provides the operator with a comfortable grip that will limit hand cramping and user fatigue. The main ergonomic issue with this mower is the handle trigger design. As you can see in the photo, the safety trigger is on the right-hand side. On most more expensive mowers, there are switches on the handle at both sides, allowing you to activate the mower with either hand. But with the Bosch, you’ll need to use your right hand exclusively.

You don’t get a massive amount of functionality with this mower. There’s no mulching plug for example. However, it does have a lot of nice features, such as the grass comb and cutting height adjustment lever.
