This new design features two switches in the same space usually occupied by one, which has allows BOSS to arm the ME-80 with a huge array of foot-operated options, while remaining compact and mobile. La ME-80 ofrece facilidad de uso al desempeño, con ocho pedales conmutadores multi-función para el control on/off directo de los efectos, selección de bancos/patrones, y alternado de modos, más el conveniente acceso a funciones alternas como el tap tempo, afinador, control looper, y mas. La función especial control (CTL) es asignable también en cada patrón de parámetros, permitiéndote conmutar la activación/desactivación de efectos agrupados, o el ajuste de algun parámetro especifico en tiempo real. El nuevo desarrollo del diseño del pedal conmutador provee dos interruptores en el espacio previamente ocupado por un interruptor, permitiéndole a BOSS el equipar la ME-80 con un generoso abanico de controles operados-por-pie, al mismo tiempo que conserva la unidad extremadamente móvil y compacta. En adición a los ocho pedales conmutadores principales, el pedal de expresión esta equipado con un conmutador activado por el pulgar, que alterna entre el pedal de volumen y la configuración actual del Pedal FX.
