About this deal

Like most other Brooks running shoes, the Glycerin maintains a very accommodating fit that should work for most foot shapes. The midfoot feels snug, while the heel secures the fit; the forefoot is wide enough to let your foot splay, and the mesh has enough stretch to avoid feeling squished. On my first run, the shoe didn’t feel special or ground-breaking but it did feel very natural and cushioned with a signature Glycerin ride. This upper of the new Glycerin melts away on your foot,” one tester says. “The upper material is soft and seamless, and it gives you amazing breathability.” The cushion feels perfectly balanced,” one reviewer says. “It’s so soft, yet you don't feel like you are wearing a clunky, heavy, high-cushion shoe.”

Outsole durability is also below average so it’s not a durable workhorse that can do over 1000 kilometres. The maiden voyage of the Glycerin GTS was a 5-mile hilly route. Although they had an ample bounce out of the box, they were stiff and I knew I was in for a break-in period. Kaleb: "With its DNA LOFT cushioning, the Glycerin 19 was very soft but by no means too squishy. I felt an immediate give from the midsole when I first tried on the Glycerin 19 and was impressed with how comfortable it was during my runs." The gusseted tongue (attached to the midsole) aids this fit as well, making it almost a glove like feel. This increases the temperature in the upper. The same blown rubber used in Brooks’ offerings is used in the Glycerin GTS. This is a less dense and softer blown rubber compared to others.

Brooks Glycerin GTS 19 Intro

The Glycerin maintains a great balance between flexible and rigid, delivering a smooth ride that any runner would enjoy. Again, the flexibility does not create a propulsive running experience, but it contributes to a fun ride nonetheless. There’s nothing wrong with being a firm, max-cushioned shoe. Some runners prefer firmer shoes because they are more stable and more responsive but the problem is that the advertising for the Glycerin is misleading.

The transition from impact to toe-off was one of the smoothest I felt in a max cushioned stability trainer. The amount of cushioning and feeling of it make the Glycerins GTS 19 perfect for easier and longer runs. The biggest difference between the outsoles of the Glycerin 19 and the 18 is that the 19 has one long price of rubber on the medial side that extends from the rearfoot, all the way to the end of the midfoot just before where the forefoot starts. Their line of stability trainers has three tiers of cushioning with the Launch GTS being the first tier, the Adrenaline GTS the second tier, and the Glycerin GTS the top tier.
