About this deal

The opening of Creed's Green Irish Tweed is undeniably earthy, encapsulating the "Green" in its name. This fresh, crisp, and clean fragrance exudes an airy quality, as if you're inhaling the refreshing scents of a cool breeze on a verdant landscape. Well we got home, opened it, and he immediately fell in love. He prefers airy, light scents for me but he needed it to be his, because once we decide whose fragrance it is, the other isn’t allowed to use it as to not ruin the scent for the other one. So once he decided it was his, it was his, and I honestly prefer it that way because I would’ve used this up in a month.

The claim that it's a family perfumery, and that all the perfumes are composed by the Creed's: FALSE. I love Cool Water because of the memories, I love it because of it's simple message, most of all I love it because it smells nice. After 7-8 hours, you start getting into to the dry down, now, here is where it starts to smell really close to davidoff cool water with approximately 80% similarity. When the fragrance is in the air there is almost no difference, however, if you dig your nose to where you sprayed it, you will smell the difference in the quality of the ingredients. Green Irish Tweed has more pronounced notes whilst david-off cool water's more blurry. (Like you watch a movie in 1080p-Green Irish Tweed and 360p-Davidoff Cool Water) It does smell like Cool Water but much higher quality indeed. There's lots of blue, but in an ozonic aromatic, not artificial aquatic kind of way. There's a lot of ambergris/ambroxan(?) - it's this kind of leathery-salty from the very beginning to the end. It does last about 10 to 11 hours on my skin, BUT! the projection is moderate throughout the lifetime of the fragrance, it's never a screamer and it's the strongest for about 3-4. I like Cool Water, but I am not going out of my way to buy it anymore. In 2022, Davidoff's Cool Water is an outdated "old man" scent--perfect for grandfathers or men who like the smell of it. I think the nostalgia for the scent and its coziness are why people are so passionate about it and love it so much, but it is relatively outdated scent-wise...and there is nothing wrong with that. If you like it, then that is all that matters, but don't take my word for it regarding this likable, mass-appealing fragrance. Great aftershave, has changed my opinion [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] To be honest, I always deemed Davidoff as a cheaper aftershave that my parents used BUT this has changed my perception. Davidoff Intense is fresh and modern aftershave, and an aftershave that I would be happy to use daily. I've never given Davidoff a chance due to a pre conceived impression but I was wrong, even my 12 year old preenager wants to borrow it. The bottle doesn't look anything special in my opinion and wouldn't inspire me to try it but I suppose never judge a book by it's cover.

I always felt in reminded me of laundry day-clean fresh, pleasant and tumble dried. Never sexy. Even in warmer weather, developed an aversion to it. Then came a sea of clones from high end designers to cheap drug store body sprays. Unique fragrance! Nearly four decades since its release and it's still one of a kind. Cool Water is just a shadow of GIT.I have a soft spot for davidoff cool water and I only bought this after hearing this is what cool water is based upon. At first, I was disappointed and I actually prefered cool water (i know.) There's not much to say that has not been said about this fresh classic, the grandfather of modern aquatic scents, but I feel like Cool Water is more about the green and musky side of freshness rather than watery or airy. I've got a 75 ml bottle from the 2021 batch, so cannot judge about the original 80s-90s batches. Lastly, Cool Water is more complex and deeper than those two. Moreover, the transition of notes and the sensual opening will encourage others to give compliments about how you smell. And the freshness will attract people easily. but its aromatic, slightly spicy, and watery aspects are such a perfect blend, no matter how synthetic the current formulation.

Green Irish Tweed helps old ladies cross the road, buys their shopping, and makes them a nice cup of tea. In the Indian climatic conditions(hot and humid) this scent begins with being strong for the first 10min or so, then this becomes a skin scent for 1hr and barely projects, and then vanishes completely after 1.5hr. They somehow managed to bottle a rainy forest. It’s so incredibly calming. It’s as if they bottled the phrase ”it’s going to be alright”. Pure pure art. The dry down is the real show stopper and the performance on my F-batch is insanely good. I have this, as well as other iterations/clones of this. I do really enjoy this fragrance for its smooth gentlemanly vibe. Certainly won’t be pulling in the ladies…but it will get everyone around you thinking you smell nice and are put together. Also love it for its versatility…year round every occasion. So does it smell like Cool Water (or vice-versa)? It does. Does it therefore have the same emotional appeal? No.Cool Water has sea notes, lavender, mint, green notes, rosemary, Calone, and coriander in the opening. It gives a very fresh wealthy opening. The sweetness is balanced, and the floral touch is impressive. It feels like a deep ocean ride. It’s fresh, youthful, and enjoyable.
