Description

The cunk style in this encyclopedia isnt even consistent - somethings extremely detailed and somewhat accurate, other things just wildly absurd spellings and ignorance about fundamental aspects. Its just not consistently written as much as her tv shows.

Superbly entertaining (and, having seen her on TV, I could imagine a program with each of the descriptions). Philomena Cunk is one of the greatest thinkers of the 21st century, and in Cunk on Everything she turns her attention to our biggest why are there so many books? Wouldn't it be better if there was just one? This is that book — an encyclopedia of all human knowledge, delving into not only life's greatest mysteries but our most important political figures and cultural touchstones. This is that book - an encyclopedia of ALL HUMAN KNOWLEDGE, from sausages to Henry of Eight to Brush Strokes to vegetarian sausages. Morgan lives in the Bloomsbury district of London with her boyfriend, BBC comedy producer Ben Caudell. [4] BRILLIANT, as the whole book is done in character. The personality of Philomena Cunk shines through from the very first word to the last. Diane’s accent and voice rings in your head as you read the words. This is satire at it’s best. The book is formatted as an A to Z of things important to Philomena. She has a lovely bending of the truth and develops conspiracies of things that could be true. Philomena also has great word play, not just misspellings but using the wrong words in an innocent manner. Her character is dim, but nice. She presents an alternative view on history and life.

Cunk is a character I’ve only discovered in the past week or so, and immediately had to grab the audiobook for this to hear more of her …interesting insights into the world. And this certainly did not disappoint. Although probably not quite as hilarious as her interviews, there’s still plenty of laughs to be had here regardless.

And I'm really looking forward to giving this to my dad for Christmas because he's going to lose his mind. Perfection. I think it’s probably the only encyclopaedia I’ll ever read and was quite glad for it including Brush Strokes as I’d seen Cunks references in her TV shows but had no idea what it was about and now I don’t have to look it up on the internet. This book is great because it covers everything in existence apart from the 95% of stuff not worth bothering with’ Philomena Cunk, star of Charlie Brooker’s Weekly Wipe, Moments of Wonder and Cunk on Earth, Cunk & Other Humans

This is an idea come up with by the psychopath Sigmund Freud to explain why men are mental and cross all the time, and won’t calm down at traffic lights. His excuse was that when they were babies, all men wanted to kill their dad and do their mum. It’s one of those excuses that doesn’t really help, because that’s worse than the thing it’s explaining.”
