Having seen the exhibition and read the book - if you don't get to see the exhibition buy the book. It's wonderful and informative, a truly wonderful piece written by people passionate about Bowie. Just buying the book and opening it was a treat but reading it- awesome. I loved the handwritten lyrics. I loved the little vid of his visit to Warhol's Factory. I loved the insightful interview filmed during the Berlin years. Little things like that made it special for me. But, ultimately, I come away wondering about the structure and why it's so popular, and sort of conclude that the answer is down to the link between the two - revisionism and pandering to the mainstream.
