Description

As a foolish youth, I thought that toasters could only readily handle bread. Everything else was a gamble. You can blame my parents for that one, but as I made the discovery that I could toast smaller items with the right toaster, it was a game-changer. There’s no automatic pop-up, although it does have lovely wide slots, you just lower your toast in manually using the lever at the front then turn the browning control to the desired setting and it starts to count down. Although it’s not huge, it does everything you need it to, and it does it all well. There are six browning functions; we opted for mid-way but noticed that once the toaster was warmed up, we could dial it down a bit. This change of mind return policy is in addition to, and does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law including any rights you may have in respect of faulty items. To return faulty items see our Returning Faulty Items policy. It weakens a little bit with a single slice, which is typical given that there is typically too much heat to one slice. If you want to use the more complicated bread with several seeds (such as Burgen Bread), you may also run into some complications.

For couples and families, a four-slot or four-slice model is a better option – ensuring preparing toast for your brood at breakfast-time or simply serving up eggs on toast for two is an altogether speedier affair. If you’re fixated on a particular look, don’t despair, many brands produce two- and four-slot toaster models that look the same. Why do I need a toaster? It also has a defrost button so there aren’t any ‘Oh no, I forgot to take the bread out of the freezer’ moments, while the one side toasting function is good for bagels and the reheat perfect for those of us that sometimes get distracted and leave the toast to cool. Fed up of underdone or overdone toast? With the Distinta Flair Toaster by De’Longhi, you can control six different settings to ensure a perfect slice every time. These unique browning controls include a defrost setting, so you can toast straight from the freezer, and a re-heat option should you leave your toast just that little bit too long. There’s even a special function for bagel and crumpet lovers, too! Millie plans to hang onto the Dualit kettle and toaster for years to come, and will keep this guide updated to reflect how it lasts over time.

As part of our testing policy, we have hands-on experience with all of the products we recommend at Ideal Home. We tested toaster in this round up, as well as the matching kettles across one day, as well as testing them for energy efficiency. Despite the name, the Breville More Plus 4 Slice Toaster does not have four slots in it. Instead, it has two different bread slots that are for fitting a variety of things. It can cook crumpets, but it does not have a setting for bagels. While it’s the unique patented ProHeat elements are virtually indestructible, if anything should go wrong, parts are super easy to replace or repair. That makes this a sustainable, quality and durable buy - the full works. It has four different slots for you to place whatever you want. They evenly brown each slice of toast, regardless of it coming from the freezer or not.The Kambrook Perfect Fit 2 Slice is our first stop on this toaster adventure. As expected, it does have a setting to defrost frozen bread, which the Perfect Fit is pretty good at doing. As far as standard bread, you can imagine it is just as good at handling that. Whether you’ve accidentally left your toast in a bit too long, need to defrost a slice or two straight from the freezer, or want to reheat some toast that’s gone cold, the integrated controls will make it easy. The KitchenAid is the only model that comes with an audible toast alert. You have one when your toaster comes with a mechanical lift. While that might seem needless, there is always a chance that your toaster may pop the toast into your open hand or a low hanging cabinet. Toasting Smaller Items If you are willing to tolerate some finagling with this, it is an easy-to-use and effective toaster at your basics. It has a high-lift level so you can see your bread as it progresses. You can even stop the process with a button right upfront.
