These cans fit all sorts of head sizes and the earcups swivel to get a better fit around your head, too. Not once did we feel the headphones would fall off, either. As I started listening, the bass made me feel nostalgic. Just like the older Fostex/Denon flagships, it’s visceral, deep, driving, and powerful, but delicately controlled. May be manufactured by Fostex but that is irrelevant for the fact it's a different driver. The TX00 drivers are TH600 drivers. In addition, the driver loading (cups, Onken ports, damping) is different than in all Fostex/Massdrop headphone models. They aren’t very heavy either weighing in at 385 grams, which is only 55 grams heavier than Sennheiser's HD800 and 165 grams lighter than the Audeze LCD 2. The 2nd EQ I am sharing here is my own after few days of playing with settings and trying them on different genres of music and sound. The idea behind it is to make them sound less dark, open them up little bit and make them sound close to the flagship the D9200. I am sure you can achieve even better sound if you havent already. In that case please DO SHARE your EQ settings with us. If you try these settings I created and then try to turn OFF / ON the EQ you will see the quite pleasant difference. Its like somebody opens them up, I like this result a lot. But again please somebody improve this further I would be very interested. The highs are fantastic, I don’t find them too harsh or too bright. The level of clarity and detail offered by these cans are very high. They are very resolving with superb definition, very insightful. They are definitely not veiled or muddy sounding. I don’t find them fatiguing either. The unique FreeEdge drivers that are included in the AH-D7200 headphones are 50mm in diameter and are made out of nano-fibre material that has been chosen for its rigidity and low mass. These drivers help to deliver an accurate pistonic motion that will not create any distortion. The drivers are also self-damping, which means they are able to cancel out any unwanted resonances within the diaphragm, allowing for only the best sound reproduction. Mounted in a soft and compliant surround, the FreeEdge drivers are able to move easily in response to the music signal, with no flexing or distortion. Denon approached the AH-D7200s more like traditional speakers, with the Denon’s custom-developed 50mm driver inside each can designed to deliver the kind of performance you get from high-end loudspeakers. A detachable 7N-purity copper cable is included -also made in Japan to Denon's exact, precise specification. Fitted with a machine-cut metal plug that is extremely durable and with an ornamental copper ring, this cable ensures the best possible signal transmission.

The Denon AH-D7200s are Denon's new over ear reference headphones. With over 50 years' worth of experience behind the design, and unique, Japanese-made FreeEdge drivers included, the AH-D7200 deliver precise pistonic motion for sound that is both ultra-accurate and almost completely free from distortion. There’s plenty to love about Denon’s mellifluous tone. In fact, you may prefer this balance if you’re after long, comfortable listening sessions. And why should they? They look spectacular and should be sitting proudly on your shelf, not stored away in a bag somewhere. The good news doesn’t end there, either. The headband isn’t just some plastic strap - it’s solid aluminium, with both natural sheepskin leather on the outside, and stitched engineered leather on the inside.
