About this deal

In the US, sets typically release a few months after the UK release, with the exception of seasons 12, 19 and 18 which were released closer to, or in some cases before, the UK release. The biggest concern for the hope of episodes being returned is the age of the copies and the film reaching end of life if not copied Yeah, it was a bit confusing for Curse as there were no original DVD extra versions of the episodes on any of the Blu-Ray releases I’ve gotten. Like the latest missing episodes rumour today, I’ll believe it now when I actually see. Probably more chance of a missing episode find that another blu-ray announcement. Hey-ho Reply I’ve said it here before, and I know it’s a bit controversial – re-release all of the out of print sets, as HMV is already repeatedly doing with Season 12; instead of “Limited”, just call the main product “The Collection”.

Doctor Who: The Collection Season 9 - Limited Edition

CONVENTION FOOTAGE: A chance to hear from UNIT’s Nicholas Courtney and Richard Franklin, recorded in 1986. As it all takes time it would be good to get another addition before BluRay discs stop been produced ( 13 more volumes to with only two or three per year its going to take a long time before they are all released ) It feels like an announcement should come anytime – the previous set has been out 3 months already and all rumours suggest that S20 is due out in “summer 23” that’s now arrived so can’t be too much longer surely. BEHIND THE SOFA Five new Behind the Sofa episodes featuring Katy Manning (Jo), Peter Davison ( The Fifth Doctor), Wendy Padbury ( Zoe), Sarah Sutton ( Nyssa), Janet Fielding ( Tegan), Sophie Aldred ( Ace) and director Michael E Briant. You'll also get rare convention footage from 1986 of Nicholas Courtney (aka the Brig) and Richard Franklin (Captain Mike Yates) discussing their UNIT stories.

Day of the Daleks was released on VHS in omnibus form in 1986 (and then reissued in 1988 at a lower price point), and then in 1994 unedited. In both cases mistitled The Day of the Daleks. The Mutants was in a ‘Master’ tine with Colony in Space. For more images see here. In some cases, visual effects have been improved - improved exterior shots of the Pharos Project were used to replace models in some instances, including brand-new location shots filmed using drones. As with such improvements on the DVD range, these changes are optional and can be enabled or disabled at will. Serials have also been remixed in 5.1 surround where possible. I’m worried it will be a drought of anything new until B&M start Septemberish then the flood gates will open, better start saving chaps! I’ve started saving B&M gift cards towards the upcoming sets… PDF Archive: Production documents, scripts, and Radio Times cuttings available to view in PDF format. Well the last one was was released seven weeks after it’s announcement. So the first week in September would seem likely. Season 17 was released the Monday before Christmas. So a third release could be the same. Fingers crossed.

Reverse Standards Conversions: The 2010 RSC restoration of all four Episodes produced for the DVD release. (97'55" | 4:3 | 2010) So to be clear, it’s not about rushing the hardworking people on these sets, and I don’t agree with Levine’s take on the silence. For me it’s the not knowing at all what’s going on. It’s only thanks to @Gordon in the comments above regarding Mark Ayers that we finally have some kind of granule of a hint that it may be the actual workload proving greater than maybe initially intended towards a release date with regards to Peter Davison and co. In 2023 The Collection: Season 9 was released on Blu-ray. This was the thirteenth boxset in The Collection series, featuring Jon Pertwee's third season as the Third Doctor. It included five stories: Day of the Daleks, The Curse of Peladon, The Sea Devils, The Mutants and The Time Monster. If they bring the standard editions up then that would really kill the Limited Editions and they need the Limiteds to sell well or they will kill the whole range.

BEHIND THE SOFA Five new Behind the Sofa episodes featuring Katy Manning (Jo), Peter Davison (The Fifth Doctor), Wendy Padbury (Zoe), Sarah Sutton (Nyssa), Janet Fielding (Tegan), Sophie Aldred (Ace) and director Michael E Briant. The third season for Jon Pertwee's Third Doctor is the next release to come to Blu-ray with Season 9. We’ll either have a nice little (definitely little) surprise nearer to November, or there are likely no decent leads out there. None of the hoarder stories really work if you look at them closely. Behind the Sofa: with Michael E Briant and Katy Manning; Sophie Aldred and Wendy Padbury; and Peter Davison, Janet Fielding and Sarah Sutton. (30'52" | 16:9 | 2023)
