About this deal

The only multi-styler to use Coanda airflow across its Smoothing brushes, Barrels and Coanda smoothing dryer. With no heat damage

You need to lift up a section of hair (about one inch wide is a good rule of thumb) and hold the AirWrap curling barrel about four inches away from the end of the strand. We held the curl until the hair was dry, and then pushed the temperature switch up to deliver a ‘cold shot’ to the hair – this helps to set the style and can make the curl look shinier. One of the biggest perks of the Dyson Airwrap is that it can be used to help dry and style hair. While you shouldn't use the styler on entirely wet hair, you can rough dry your hair and style it damp so curls last longer. Is the Dyson Airwrap worth it? Round brush: The average temperature of the air stream coming from the new version/brush attachment is about 25ºF lower than the old version. I didn't notice this at all when styling my hair (in fact, I thought the air coming from the round brush on the new Airwrap felt hotter!).Two years later, Dyson released its latest hair styling device, the AirWrap Styler. Tapping into the current vogue for healthy hair styling, the Styler is designed to create curls, waves, and bouncy blow drys without using extreme heat that can leave your strands feeling frizzy and dry. All in the all, the process was quite simple, but the styler can feel a little unwieldy at first as it’s so different from using a normal hairdryer, and while working on one section of hair, we found the hot air blew our other strands into a frizzy mess.

All refurbished Dyson vacuums, purifiers, humidifiers, heaters and fans are covered by our 6-month parts and labor warranty. All Dyson hair dryers and stylers are covered by our 1-year parts and labor warranty. But we'll still be here when yours runs out; we provide Dyson technology owners with a lifetime of support. Our hair looked shiny and healthy, and we didn’t experience the burning smells that often comes with using heated styler tools on the hair.

Was it pin-straight? Absolutely not, but Dyson never claimed that can achieve a straightened look with the AirWrap. Towards the top of the Styler you’ll find the control buttons; an on/off button, heat controls, and buttons that control the speed of the airflow. In preliminary Beauty Lab tests, Aral carried out temperature measurements using three different attachments with each the old and new devices. The results showed some slight performance differences. Here's what she found: As we mentioned earlier, it does take a little practice to get the technique right, and Dyson has some helpful demo videos on its YouTube channel if you need some guidance.

The Dyson Airwrap Complete styler is engineered for multiple hair types and styles and includes six attachments to achieve curls, waves, and smooth, shiny hair. The different attachments include a 1.2-inch and 1.6-inch Airwrap barrel, a firm, smoothing and round volumizing brush, and a pre-styling dryer. The Airwrap barrels allow you to create different size curls and waves, and the three different brushes are engineered to help flat, fine, and frizz-prone hair. Engineered for unruly, frizz-prone hair. With barrels to curl and wave, and a brush to control and smooth. Refurbished Dyson machines are built to last. However, if you experience any problems, or have any questions, Dyson Experts provide the same level of support as if it was a brand new machine. It’s important to note that the AirWrap will have different effects on different types of hair; we tested it on jaw-length Type 2A wavy hair. We didn’t use any styling products or hairspray, but we did shield the hair with a heat-protecting spray to avoid any damage. Firm bristles to smooth and control unruly, frizz-prone hair. For a straighter style with less frizz and fewer flyaways.¹Curling barrels: The surface temperature of the new 1.2" barrel measured about about 40ºF lower than the old Airwrap/1.2" curler combo. In our home tests, this didn't seem to affect our hair, nor did I find it noticeable while using the device, and the style lasted as long as it did when I used the old Airwrap. And with even less heat damage — a win! That said, the tool isn't without flaws. Aside from the sky-high price point, there's a substantial learning curve when it comes to adapting to the innovative technology at first — it took me a matter of months, not days, to really figure it out. And not every attachment is a fit for everyone: I really only ever use the smoothing attachment, the curling barrels, the round brush and the firm smoothing brush. You'll also have to consider your hair type and what you're trying to achieve: While my hair happens to hold a curl well, the Airwrap might not be right for you if your hair struggles to hold a style as the gentle heat may not be strong enough to set a style (although that can be improved by using styling products like a mousse or using the curling attachments on damp hair). Lastly, if you don't plan on styling your hair with the device regularly, it may not wind up being worth the cost. Heat styling can often leave your hair feeling frizzy and dry, and can even lead to breakage if you use heat regularly, particularly if you have fine hair or tightly coiled Type 4 hair. The Coanda effect seems to be limited to the AirWrap barrels themselves, so you will need to manually wrap your hair around the volumizing brush to achieve a soft wave.
