About this deal

The speaker also has Bluetooth functionality, it is the 5.0 Qualcomm aptX HD Bluetooth connectivity which is very reliable. The advantage of this is that it eliminates the need for connecting cables and unnecessary wires apart from the power cable. Another awesome feature is the Hi-Res audio support functionality of the speakers. S2000MKIII, Speaker Cable, 3.5mm>RCA Audio Cable, RCA Audio Cable, Optical Cable, Remote Control, User Manual

The sound is outputted via planar diaphragm tweeters and 5.5-inch woofers, with 15W of power delivered to the tweeters and 50W reserved for the woofers. Powering that sound is a Class-D digital amp, with the crossover for frequencies managed by a dual DSP digital processor that uses two chips to independently manage treble and the medium-bass channels. There are no advanced audio codecs here – no Dolby Surround, Dolby Atmos or Dolby-Anything, so you’ll have to send uncompressed PCM sound from your TV or streaming device. I am a bass head and the base is very good on these and its enough for most bass heads unless you want to disturb your far neighbours. But when there is a large explosion in a movie, you miss that thunderous feeling of an external sub by say, 10 to 15%. not a big deal.

EXPERIENCE THE SOUND AS IF YOU ARE THERE: The flagship series has been upgraded with high-definition APTX HD Bluetooth wireless transmission, and recognised with Hi-Res certification.

As is, I can not recommend the Edifier S2000 Pro. It is just too imperfect. If you have it though, equalization helps a lot to turn it into a good sounding speaker at a great price.Hi-Res HIGH RESOLUTION DIGITAL AUDIO: Thanks to the high-quality unit and with a digital audio resolution of up to 24-bit/192kHz, it completely exceeds the Hi-Res test criteria, presenting richer music details.

A great feature of the Audioengine A5+ speakers is their thermal protection making them hard to overheat and safe to use as desktop speakers. They also have a feature that limits the output current and voltage which is great for your peace of mind. The soundscape is expansive and airy, and the speakers fill the room with clean sound and strong bass (you can lower the bass levels, of course – but why would anyone want less bass, I say!). Hi RD, Thanks for your thoughts! Yea I was really conflicted but in the interest of honesty I commented on the poor quality dust covers simply because I felt a little disapointed by them. But I do understand your point, they are simply sublime! All in all, the sound quality is very good from this Edifier model and it gives a pleasant listening experience. You are free to go as high as you want with the volume levels and still enjoy undistorted sound because of the great power of this speaker. Each midbass unit is driven by a TAS5754 and features a luxurious PBTL parallel bridge to make the power reserve more abundant. The TAS5754 power amplifier outputs a PWM carrier frequency of 768KHz, fully optimising high-frequency distortion and local noise.

The cabinet/port resonances start to mix with the response above 500 Hz causing the variations. The tweeter itself has very uneven response which may be due to all the structures in front of it. Despite use of DSP, it doesn't seem like it was used to correct any of these deficiencies. They are really solid. I tried scratching the wood grain with a key and then with a pen. It handled my scratch test perfectly without as much as a smudge on the wood. To be honest I didn’t try too hard as these ones are going to be returned, but it gave me a decent enough idea of just how well built these are.

To give the speakers a run for their money, I invoked our in-house musician, Stav Drieman, to have a listen. Edifier has put a lot of thought into details and balance. The soundstage is wider and fuller and the bass is better than what you’d get from a flatscreen TV with intelligible dialogue too. I like the fact that it gives a TV’s sound more weight and directs it into the room, but these are big in size. They’d need a speaker stand if you’re going to set them on either side of a 50-inch+ TV. S3000Pro:
