I expected and would have liked it to be an actual canon and serious manga, but it's not the end of the world. With little choice in the matter, Aseo accepts the request from Melaina. However, in exchange for providing some much needed aid in his travels, he must take Melaina with him, following a guiding light down an arduous road to the Erdtree. Armed with nothing but a loincloth, a club, and his trusty steed Torrent, Aseo must brave the many dangers and face off against the quirky inhabitants of the Lands Between. There are references to the __items__ the NPCs actually give you ingame (i.e. Margit giving you the pouch for expanding your talisman slots or the crafting kit and cookbook you get from the first merchant) and it also explains what it does. There's like an embedded __tutorial__.
