About this deal

In addition to its impressive power and unique character, the Fosi Audio TB10D amplifier offers a level of customization that sets it apart from other budget-friendly models. With the ability to adjust the tonality to your preference, you can fine-tune the sound to your specific tastes. It’s also worth noting that the Fosi TB10D does not have bluetooth connection. I will explain this more in comparing this amp with the BT20A below. So, I have a Fiio K5 pro connected as a preamp/DAC, an old laptop as the source, and the afore mentioned speakers. I watch all CheapAudioMan videos. I enjoy him and I find some of his videos worth the watch, but I think that if either of the units he thrashed above were US made, then he might have something different to say. Now, you can have the bass set at the baseline level, and the bass will be really neutral and lean. The bass generally has a super smooth texture, smooth presentation and not a lot of weight. You can increase that with a touch of your finger on the bass potentiometer, and at the max, it gainst almost 10 – 15 dB, with the energy being focused in both the sub bass and the mid bass. Sadly, there is no subwoofer output, for either active or passive subwoofer, so I can only hear the bass of my speakers. With the bass slider at max, KLH Model Five don’t really require a subwoofer anymore, so there’s that, you can enjoy most large pairs of speakers neatly with the Fosi Audio TB10D.

Fosi Audio TB10D TPA3255 Mini Stereo HiFi Audio Power

Seriously though even if the Kenwood was good as new it would still get blown away by a modern class AB or class D. I have the Adcom GFA-545 that a grew up with as a kid around and I while I do take it out now and then I prefer my modern amps and the Adcom is budget audiophile legend and a beast of a amp.

Final Thoughts

As you can see in the unboxed picture above, there are no frills, just the amplifier and a 32V/5A power supply (same specs as AOSHIDA). Even though the THD or total harmonic distortion is high, the price performance value of the Fosi Audio TB10D is high, with the Amplifier having a super nice sound for the money paid, and with the price being what you’d typically pay for entry-level Chifi IEMs or Earphones, this is a nice deal I can recommend anyone who’s looking for the most affordable HIFI Stereo Amplifier. It has more than enough power for most headphones, and while Fosi Audio products look similar, they also sound fairly similar, so go with the one that has all the features you need, the differences in sound won’t be high enough to justify the price difference. They’re certainly well-made for car stereos. But having run the TB10D through a couple of sets of different speakers, including the Q Acoustic 3010 and an Energy Tower set, this thing has enough power to make most speakers sound pretty good.

Fosi Audio TB10D – A Tiny Amp With Massive Sound

I conducted a comparison between the Onkyo RZ50 in pure output mode (RCA) and the BT30D Pro (RCA), both using RP5000F towers and an amp selector switch. I was unable to hear any difference between them, which is good news. It appears that the well-implemented TPA3255 chip sounds the same in all cases. The TPA3255 specifies a mere 0.006% total harmonic distortion plus noise (THD+N) at 1W into a 4Ω load, rising to just 0.1% at the onset of clipping. Power supply ripple rejection is >65dB at 1kHz in BTL mode, so the chip isn’t especially sensitive to a quality power supply. The chip is 90% efficient at 4Ω I have found class D amplifiers of this nature to offer A LOT of sound, meaning they often bring the power, with enough detail to impress you. Given the power supply, and considering a more reasonable distortion level of 0.1% or less, I would expect to get around 70W per channel out of this amp into a 4Ω load. Testing a class D amplifier is more difficult due to the output filter network, which filters out the switching frequency but can skew traditional means of testing using a fixed resistive load. Class-D amps have become increasingly popular, plus they are small, light, and don’t run too hot. They’re cooler than other classes of amps like A, B, and ABs, but they produce the same amount of power.

Inside, the TB10D houses a Texas Instruments TPA3255 amplifier chip, renowned in the audio enthusiast community for its top-notch performance. So don’t be fooled by its affordability – the TB10D is a well-crafted unit. Sound Compared to the JBL 305PMkII with their built in class D amplification, the Fosi Audio TB10D Behringer 2030P combo is a brute. It doesn’t have the boundary options that the JBL has, but it does have a much quieter disposition. The JBL 305P MKII is known for its hissy nature, the Fosi Audio TB10D did not exhibit any unwanted hiss. I know other reviewers had valid issues with the original version of this amp, but Fosi Audio seems to have rectified whatever the problem was on the early generation. While I wish the power supply was certified by a NRTL, at least it can be swapped out for something else in the event it fails.
