I'm not sure where to go next. Can anyone help? Is this possible, and if so, what am I doing wrong? Humax Foxsat-HDR review Best Freesat PVR, Awards 2010. If you're looking to take the plunge with Freesat, this is the way to do it – a great piece of kit The equipment is tuned properly to the same antenna equivalent to that of Freesat (28.2°/28.5° East). It's been used this way for dozens of updates on Humax kit (not just the Foxsat-hdr). Never needed to use the full format option. I think I recall that Twonky and Mediatomb both have a user interface, perhaps accessed via a port, and it will periodically rescan it's folders. I think It was also possible to force a rebuild which I needed to do initially - it was some time ago however. Try the Foxsat doc on these clients.

This gives lots of extra functionality eg a Web Interface , Streaming, enhanced File Management etc and includes the last release of Humax's last kernel, v1.00.21, for the Foxsat HDR. I did reboot the Foxsat after flashing the firmware, however I do not get the "Custom Fw v4.1.3" on the display after BOOT. I used version 4.1.3 to flash

I cant see much of potential interest on the I-17 Ku band beam, so assuming you are wanting the Indian channels they are C-band and will require a pretty big dish - probably start thinking at something in the region of 2m in diameter if not a bit bigger. Type in your postcode, this will decide which BBC One and ITV region you receive. Verifying your postcode, this is part of the Freesat software, you can use any UK postcode. Thanks Graham I can finally see them after reinstalling Twonky4 media server under root video folders but now I have more questions than before Over ethernet you do not specify how you are copying vis the share (smb) or ftp. I suspect ftp may handle multiple streams better. It is quite some time since I had a Foxsat but it was never that fast.

Freesat was launched in May 2007, allowing viewers to watch digital satellite TV without a subscription. Select All or the value in the transponder list and press the OK button. If the required value is not available, select User Define and enter the transponder value directly. My faithful HDR Fox T2 appears to have finally given up the ghost as it enters a crash/reboot loop on power up. Thanks to guidance from this forum I am very sure it is not the HDD as this still happens with it removed. I'm also very sure it isn't the front panel as I was able to borrow the one from my emergency replacement DTR T1000. Also thanks to this forum I have secured and decrypted offline all recordings (thanks for that!) Instructions say press standby and other users say you need to press standby for around 30 secs. I've not updated mine for a while and I've always powered off and it's always worked for me. The HUMAX doesn't see the Ethernet info via DHCP, I've added the info manually and it doesn't seem to connect.

Also if I use my smart tv to access to recordings I can find them under devices then foxsat but Sony's inbuilt video player plays only some of them, can't play some and some it just plays the video without any sound. Any idea what would cause that? Upscaling of standard-definition pictures is good enough too, and usefully, you can bypass that feature altogether by setting the video output options to 'original'. It's an asset any AV enthusiast will value and, as an added nod to convenience, the Humax will output 5.1 over HDMI, too. As for iPlayer content, obviously it's not as crisp as satellite-delivered HD, but it is surprisingly good – and it also adds considerably to the Foxsat-HDR's appeal. It's not cheap, but in this case, you definitely get what you pay for. Hi guys, sorry to ask a slightly different question... I've tuned in ch4 HD in stb mode. But the switching between freesat and stb mode is slightly annoying. C4 in freesat mode is SD only, PCM stereo and you can't see C4HD unless in non-freesat mode on a 1000S. Suggesting finger trouble and watching in freesat mode to me?I had Twonky4 and Mediatomb was installed but because of these problems I wanted to upgrade to Twonky5 but system wouldn't allow it due to Twonky4 had already t been installed, so I uninstalled Twonky4 and upgraded to Twonky5 You CAN use the HDR for another satellite. I set one up once for 19E with 28E as sat A and 19E as Sat B for a DiSeqC switch. This was when the HDR was set up for single LNB use. The LNB1 out went to LNB2 in and LNB1 in went to the DiSeqC switch. It all worked as you would expect it to. The Humax Foxsat HDR can record over 200 hours of standard TV and up to 100 hours of high definition TV effortlessly. Even when you fill the very generous 500gb hardrive on the Humax Foxsat HDR there is a USB slot enabling you to save your favourite TV programs or films to an external hardrive or PC. Upscaled standard-def picture quality depends on the channel, but more often than not it looks quite ropey. BBC One, for instance, looks fairly clean and sharp, but ITV1 and some of the music channels look soft and noisy. All of the channels suffer from a little pixel shimmering here and there and there’s some ringing around edges, but a lot of this is down to the quality of the original broadcasts and none of it really spoils your viewing experience anyway. I have postulated that it may be possible to install an alternative PSU, but as I have not been afflicted by a fault such as this I have not spent the time that would be necessary to study the problem.
