About this deal

Wild Draw Four – This acts just like the wild card except that the next player also has to draw four cards as well as forfeit his/her turn. With this card, you must have no other alternative cards to play that matches the color of the card previously played. If you play this card illegally, you may be challenged by the other player to show your hand to him/her. If guilty, you need to draw 4 cards. If not, the challenger needs to draw 6 cards instead. If turned up at the beginning of play, return this card to the Draw pile, shuffle, and turn up a new one. Skip – When a player places this card, the next player has to skip their turn. It can only be played on a card that matches by color, or on another Skip card. If turned up at the beginning of play, the first player (to the dealer’s left) loses his/her turn. The next player to that player’s right starts the game instead. Use these GIANT UNO cards in the classroom for all the things this year with these 8 fun, hands-on ideas.

The only thing that could make the matching card game more fun? Giant-sized cards! Bigger IS better

This card changed the direction of the game, that is, if it was to the right, it turns to the left, and vice versa. This card can only be played on cards that match it in color or on other "Reverse" cards. In the event that the first card that forms the discard pile at the beginning of the game is a "Reverse" card, the first player will be the one who dealt the cards, and the game will continue to his left, instead of to the right. Skip Step 1: Put students in groups and deal out 7 cards to each group. The goal of the game is for each group to get rid of all of their cards so they have a total of 0 points at the end. Setup: The game is for 2-10 players, ages 7 and over. Every player starts with seven cards, and they are dealt face down. The rest of the cards are placed in a Draw Pile face down. Next to the pile a space should be designated for a Discard Pile. The top card should be placed in the Discard Pile, and the game begins! Wild – This card represents all four colors, and can be placed on any card. The player has to state which color it will represent for the next player. It can be played regardless of whether another card is available. If turned up at the beginning of play, the first player chooses what color to continue play.

Before starting the game, each player takes a card. The player who draws the highest card will deal. Special cards do not count in this case.Using the cards as your guide, assign each of them a different brain break activity. Here are some suggestions to get you started. You can use the Giant UNO Cards to do many of the same activities that we suggested in this post about using our Free Place Value Chart . Just replace the numbers with the cards! Use Giant UNO Cards with Any Set of Questions #7 | ELA example When a player plays his penultimate card, he must say "UNO!" You must say it before your penultimate card touches the discard pile, otherwise the other players may "catch" you. If he has forgotten but realizes before the rest of the players and says "UNO!", He will be saved, so he should not steal any penalty card. You can not "catch" a player by forgetting to say "UNO!" before he places his penultimate card in the discard pile. Neither can he be "caught" when the next player's turn has already started. By "beginning the turn" it is understood that the player has stolen a card from the pile or that he has taken a card from his hand to play it. Step 3: Give students a moment to discuss the question in their groups and come to a final group answer to submit.
