About this deal

There are some pretty toxic family relationships on her side and his constant anger and bad treatment of her is pretty unbelievable. This book isn’t perfect and that’s why it didn’t get five stars but I still liked it. But when he slides his fingers down my spine, pulls me possessively closer, and whispers how much he’s missed me, all the reasons why I shouldn’t forgive him start to disappear. Cody was cute. Definitely not Clay or even Holland but he is the youngest and he acted as such. A spoiled bratty young man who is trying to be in a man’s world. He’s powerful, ruthless in the boardroom and lives in a penthouse suite. I’m quiet, awkward, and live in a crumbling apartment.

From an early age, Nia knew she wanted to be a writer and actively began chasing that dream when she was a teenager. Yes, Mr. Bachelor of the Year and grumpy CEO of a billion-dollar company once belonged to me—a charity worker who can barely afford rent. But when Crow destroys the most precious thing to me, I realize I’ve suffered in silence long enough.I liked the book but to be honest the tropes of poor girl and rich boy is getting annoying at this point: I know we all are open to different opinions and all that but for once please guys in as much as I love a rich guy loving an extremely poor girl and all that right now I’m getting tired of these tropes. Like I really need a rich corporate baddie and when I mean corporate baddie I don’t mean the one working for him. No. From different companies or different fields of work falling in love. I’m tired of this same story line of poor girl struggling to feed and living in a shitty apartment. Like we get it Cinderella but now we need a corporate baddie or just some girl who has her shit together for once. I mean we are tired of seeing the same pattern of her sharing a room and all that. For once let the lady have her own apartment with a good job that is not working under him. The male character is a big RED FLAG 🚩, especially in the beginning ( did not take no as an answer, personal space , stalker , harassment , etc) Alastair had the rich man going through something brooding vibe, and Kenya is a independent & opinionated woman that has had to work for everything that she’s accomplished. I absolutely LOVED that when Alastair would come at Kenya crazy and she would correct him every time. Even if his chiseled jaw, broad chest, and strong hands star in my dreams. Even if he throws his money at my charity and fosters a kid with a heart condition. Even if we end up sharing a bed.

I enjoyed most of this, although I had some issues with part of it. For some reason, I was reminded of Terms and Conditions by Lauren Asher as I was reading this. Probably because, like Iris in that story, Kenya is the assistant to a really demanding jerk of a billionaire boss. He demands her weekends, holds her to really high standards and is unfair to her to keep from letting his true feelings show through. In some ways, I think Holland was better than Declan. Okay, in kind of a lot of ways. Still, I REALLY enjoyed this book. Maybe I'm a little too easy to please, I don't know. I think that even with the way the story unfolded and whatnot (not those awful disruptions though), their story still made sense to me (because people are weird and complex, common sense isn't common to all, miscommunications happen, and people sometimes choose to keep the lousiest things to themselves, you know). I honestly don't know who was more of a spoiled Brat; Kenya or Sasha. Being strong and independent doesn't mean you have to be annoying and rude. Kenya got on my nerves so bad I wanted to throw this book away. Kenya was more mean and rude to Alistair than her step sister who slept with her boyfriend. It was a cute read. Some of it had me giggling a little to much. Loved Kenya knew what she wanted it came to her job. How she handled everything that Holland threw at her.I love getting lost in theses series, seeing the way Cody cared for Joel. You could see from the beginning, I don’t why it’s so hard for men to show feelings. Sometimes I feel I care to much, I put up with my ex negative for 5 1/2 after the divorce because my youngest was scare and didn’t want his dad to be homeless. Unfortunately my situation turned out bad compared to Clarissa, she and Cody realized there issues and was able to be stronger together. Myself I realized I needed him out of my house because it was tearing me apart mentally. I hate Cody because he reminds me of my boss and I feel like Cody is a childish name. Not sorry. I don’t know how they ended up together the first time besides attraction what’s else was there? Their morals are so far off I can hardly believe their marriage would have last more than six months. Cody himself is the same ruthless CEO type we get in all the rich CEO books. I was hoping for something different because I’m tired of the whole “he’s rich and evil but he’s fine so I can ignore that and change him” BS. I’m also anti blond men. The embarrassment of Cody and Clarissa's first time seeing each other in the beginning was way to cringy, I was mortified just reading it.
