About this deal

Rembrandt's journey was incredibly touching through this book. You see his struggles at their core, and how he chooses to face the future.

But the shadows of my past haunted me, making me afraid to explore the possibilities I could never before have imagined. He wasn't supposed to be there when I fell. I wasn't supposed to get lost in a sea of sapphire blue when he helped me up. And he wasn't supposed to be Alexander Stone, the New York billionaire real estate tycoon. But the best part of this book is really its character work, and especially surrounding our protagonists, Henry Coffey and his secretary Theophilus Essex. Finally, we have a romance novel that isn't just about insta-love or insta-lust. We have time to get to know our protagonists slowly but engagingly. We see their initial relationship, the coldness and austerity of Theophilus contrasted against the bouncing cheerfulness of Henry, and we're there on the journey as the ice between them thaws. But he's learned things along this journey. He's not invincible. He's ready to move in humility instead of with the hot headed impulsiveness which has gotten him to this point. Highly recommend if you enjoy time-traveling detective stories with high stakes, action and a love that spans decades.

Susan May Warren is the USA Today bestselling, Christy and RITA award–winning author of more than eighty novels whose compelling plots and unforgettable characters have won acclaim with readers and reviewers alike. The mother of four grown children, and married to her real-life hero for over 30 years, she loves travelling and telling stories about life, adventure and faith. I don't know what it is, but I have learned that I can live with the past mistakes much easier than without the blessings of today.”

In the Italian Alps at an ultra-exclusive ski resort that doubles as a casino, MI6 field agents Parker, Yang, and Bailey, supported by technician Rachel Stone, are tasked with extracting Mulvaney, an arms dealer who is there gambling on an actual in-session U.S. Marines combat operation being livestreamed. The mission quagmires when Yang is caught trying to sedate Mulvaney, prompting a gunfight. Parker manages to extract Mulvaney to a cable car, but the rest of the team sees Mulvaney's men beginning to assemble at the bottom of the mountain for an ambush. I think I was just in mood for something like this, with a lot of longing, pining, subtle flirtations. Some parts were quite unbelievable, for example the fact that Henry was over 500 years old but still had never been anywhere out of England? That just does not make sense. Or how he would get so entrapped by Greek mythological stories because he had never heard them before? Sir, what have you been doing for the last 500 years? Man, I wish more romance novels was written like this one. This book is the epitome of slow burn romance and while I could wish for a slightly earlier resolution (more on that later), I still gotta say I loved the slow burn. For all its supernatural and period trappings, this was at its heart (hah) a novel really about two people trying to fall in love from a great distance, and how they overcame each hurdle along the way. It’s been exciting to read this series as it released, and Heart of Stone caps off the series perfectly; but it’s also been really hard to wait for the next book after finishing the prior one. If you haven’t started this series yet, now’s the perfect time – collect all six, clear your calendar for a few days, and settle in to binge read the epic adventure story of the hunky Rembrandt Stone. I can’t think of a better winter plan.a b " Heart of Stone". Writers Guild of America West. Archived from the original on November 27, 2022 . Retrieved November 27, 2022.

Writing collectively as David James Warren, USA Today bestselling author Susan May Warren, award-winning author James L. Rubart, and new voice, David C. Warren, are the creators of THE TRUE LIES OF REMBRANDT STONE. It shows how independent publishing can support a wider range of story structures. I think it would be hard (not impossible, but challenging) to get a traditional publisher to go for something with this low level of drama, but it's sweet, intimate, and perfect in its way.

Heart of Stone continues its rollercoaster ride for readers across time, suspense, action, and even love. You won't want to miss this conclusion to "The True Lies of Rembrandt Stone" series. I'd love to tell you more...but I don't want to spoil your ride. Get a copy of Heart of Stone. You'll be so glad you did. My only complaint in this book is that the villain was not a surprise. I was expecting a twist but that’s okay. Sometimes the journey more than makes up for it. I liked the touch of Faith it had throughout and how Rembrandt finally understood what he needed to do. I loved his and Eve's relationship in the past tense and present. I think it truly showed what a soul mate really is. I appreciated the way the authors treated marriage and the process of getting to it. I understand that some physical situations will occur, but they never crossed the line (in my opinion) at least not with the present Rembrandt.

Henry was amazing too, I loved him, but Theophilus is more My Type of Character. The side characters were also very strong, even those we didn't see much, like Marcellus and Genesius (I'm excited to read the short story about them!) Fleming, Mike Jr. (January 15, 2021). But he knows one thing…living in this world is impossible. Time has outwitted him. It’s time for him to outwit time. Can he reconstruct a past he just destroyed or is there nothing left of his world to save? The story itself was good so it could’ve worked perfectly without the racism. I just don’t understand why this author felt the need to destroy his work. Overall, I would not recommend reading this book. Kroll, Justin (March 8, 2022).
