According to Hope Not Hate, Blood and Honour is banned in many countries, and has around 10 concerts in the UK a year. In 1978, Donaldson moved to Manchester, where he recruited guitarist Glenn Jones and drummer Martin Smith. This line-up toured extensively, but certain venues were reluctant to book the band because of their reputation as a skinhead band. The reformed Skrewdriver eventually became openly supportive of far right-wing groups, after a period of denying such claims. Donaldson eventually described himself as a neo-Nazi, saying: “I would describe myself as a British National Socialist, not a German one, and so don’t think I’m at odds with British patriots.” Over the past two weeks a number of well-known hatemongers had passed away, notably a Skrewdriver bass player, a reputed Proud Boy and an author that was supposed to speak at the 2021 American Renaissance Conference.

This enthusiastic gathering celebrated the life, music and politics of Ian Stuart and suitably marked the 30th anniversary of his tragic death. Despite all the efforts of a rag-bag of cultural Marxists and self-styled ‘anti-fascists’, the ISD gig was successfully held in an excellent venue in this North-East city, and the event was not disrupted or hindered by those hostile elements. Attending Baines grammar school, Ian managed to collect five high grade O levels. There was no doubting his intelligence, but his heart always tend to be in music and youth culture. In the late 80s Blood and Honour were publishing quarterly magazines and staging concerts across the country but they had also provoked a highly organised opposition group called Anti-Fascist Action.

All we can say is that because of the car’s two defects the car became less easy to control.”

Since South Africa has become our passion, we will reproduce the lyrics of their song “Strikeforce” : If I went to the press and told them that I’ve changed my ways I could be on Top of the Pops. I could make a hell of a lot of money that way. If I was only in it for the money I wouldn’t be as dedicated as I am to the Nationalist cause. I would have sold out years ago.” Ian Stuart Donaldson Talland, who runs a building company from his Waltham Abbey home, makes a pretty penny out of the ISD gig. In arranging the annual event, he rents out the stage and PA system to Blood and Honour and has exclusive rights to sell alcohol and merchandise. At last year’s ISD gig, he proved 20 barrels of beer and 4,000 cans of lager at a 600% mark up.
