Of course, the table and quoted prices are just a guide. The actual selling prices vary from one retailer to another. However, the “revolutionary” new drive system did not impress us much. To be honest, it feels quite a bit like the older Oral-B brushes, but it is a bit quieter and the motion is not as jittery. Ultimately, the cleaning experience is okay, but the motion can be a bit harsh for people with sensitive teeth and gums. One of our testers found it less comfortable than other Oral-B models and found himself forced to use the sensitive mode because it was too harsh. One thing that really bothered us is that with all this technology, the battery indicator is terribly implemented. There is no light on the handle, and you cannot use the app to see the battery life. The battery indicator will show up when you put it on the charger and after you finish brushing, if you wait and watch the screen, it will show how much battery you have left. But why they did not add a battery level menu on the touchscreen is beyond us! They could easily have a cheap, mid range and premium option, keep things simple etc, but by having something at every price point it ensures a consumer buys something. Hi Eileen. The iO Series have their own range of brush heads and don’t use the normal head from Oral-B. They are not interchangeable. Reply If you like to switch between different brush heads, the refill holder offers a place to store others when not in use. It’s also ideal for placing the head on to dry whilst detached from the handle.

If you bought them at the same price, then I would probably go for the iO Series 7. It is the sleeker unit overall. That said, having the option of Sensitive mode is nice, for those times your teeth and gums might be feeling a bit more tender and you want something a little less intense.
