Description

The premium built-in Rogers INAOC Poron foams reduce unnecessary noise and hollow sound when typing on the mechanical switches. The foams are installed between the PCB and the plate, as well as at the bottom case, providing an enjoyable and sheer typing feel. FN+F=MAC Switch between the multimedia key and standard key in zone F (the keyboard must enter MAC mode first) Open the keyboard power switch, short press FN+44 key light flashing, and insert the receiver into the computer USB port.

The NJ80-AP by Keydous adds to their lineup with a 75% hot-swappable, wireless keyboard that feels great to type on with fantastic build quality—all while coming in at around ~130 USD. Use the original charging cable to connect the USB port of the computer for charging, and the charging current should be less than 1A. The full ABS plastic body of the Keydous NJ80 comes with one color option: off-white. This gives the keyboard a pretty distinct retro vibe that I’m very much a fan of. But I understand if not everyone is a fan of the yellow space bar, baby blue escape key, and gold volume knob. The keycaps are high-quality PBT plastic, as seen on the best keyboards (and withheld from some of the stingier designs… Razer). In comparison, the case is a little underwhelming. It’s ABS plastic through and through, a rather dull white, and held in place with clips and very difficult to open. You could argue that it’s saving weight versus a more premium aluminum build, but this is already a pretty hefty board thanks to its premium interior components and a beefy battery. Open the keyboard power switch, short press FN+ 4 4 key light flashing, the receiver into the computer USB port can be used.Hold down the FN+1 key for 3 seconds. The keyboard enters the pairing state, and the digit 1 indicator blinks at short intervals.

RGB Lighting Setting: RGB Wave, Ripple, Rain Drop, Snake, Press Action, Convergence, Sine Wave, Kaleidoscope, Line Wave, Laser, RGB Circle Wave, Dazzing, Breathing, Color Cycle, Music Visualiser 1, Music Visualiser 2) When it comes to customizing the RGB lighting, the Keydous software offers a bunch of different presets such as dynamic breathing, sine wave, always on, and more. Bluetooth ConnectionApart from using the software, there’s a whole host of functions you can use to change into different lighting modes on the NJ80. Curiously, some models seem to be missing the ‘sleep’ function. The Caps indicator is a case-sensitive indicator. You can use the FN+ Caps command to change the color of the indicator, but it does not participate in the indicator effect. FN + | = switch lamp effect mode (light waves, ripples, raindrops, serpentine, follow, aggregation, sine wave, Colorful springs, flowers, laser, peaks, and turns, colorful vertical and horizontal, breathing, neon)

FN+Tab= Switch the sleep time of lights. If the Caps light blinks once, it will start to sleep if it is not used for 2 minutes. Microsoft for Business CouponExclusive: 20% off select Surface Pro 9 for Business + Type Cover Bundle Keydous did a pretty good job with the keycaps, with sharp, precisely-positioned legends. These are Dye-subbed PBT keycaps, which are actually doing the RGB underneath an injustice. Yes, the Keydous NJ80 does have RGB LEDs, but as the board is South-facing, the LEDs won’t do that great a job of illuminating your regular shine-through keycaps, which often have the legends on the upper portion of the keycaps. On the software side, the NJ80 uses Keydous’ proprietary software for all customization features. You are able to remap the main key layer along with one extra layer, however, your options on remapping are pretty limited; plus, there are no media keys. Moreover, you can record macros—which is always nice to see.

The first thing I did was to reassign the Del key as a PrtSc key, so I am a happy camper. For the record, the default hotkey for PrtScr is Fn+P. So there technically is a PrtScr button on the Keydous NJ80. You can also assign shortcuts and macros to key combos involving the modifiers, and the macro recording portion actually works pretty well. However the key assignment could probably be better if you can assign it to have a secondary function when pressed along with a modifier key. Update: I upgraded this to 5 stars because the brass plate is now available for the purple and white keyboard. In addition they added the Box Taro Ice Cream switch. Although I prefer the delete key at the top, this keyboard is worthy of the 5 stars. This is the first keyboard I've tried that I'm not motivated to modify at all. I've previously used the GMMK Pro which I've equipped with lubed and filmed Tangerines and some keycaps from Drop. It was nice, but opening and modifying the switches was a huge pain. This NJ80, in contrast, is 95% as good in feel (the Ice Cream Pro Taro switches are a tiny bit less smooth than the Tangerines) for cheaper and better in other ways (nice non-ugly keycaps included), without costing me any of my time. I'm not one of those people who messes with their keyboard for fun. Further reading: See our roundup of the best wireless keyboards to learn about competing products. Keydous NJ80-AP design I only have two functionality complaints with the NJ80-AP. First, I don’t like how the dongle sits under the keyboard. It just sits on the underside facing straight down, making me nervous it might randomly fall out while ferrying it between work and home. Other keyboards I have used have it recessed in the notch made for the legs, which feels a bit more secure. That said, the dongle does fit pretty securely in there, so it is unlikely to fall out unless it loosens up over time. Either way, this could only potentially be an issue if you plan to move the keyboard between different locations often.

The rotary encoder’s knob is removable and replaceable. If you are replacing the knob, just make sure the center of the knob could fit in a plastic post with 8.1mm diameter. There are some for sale at Keydous Taobao store too.
