About this deal

This is a creative mixture of very aromatic metal old-fashioned soap, honey, powder, animal ,flowers, smoke, clove, patchouli ...i don't know about the vintage but the new versions smell like old urine Kind of like Kouros-lite + grapefruit or something. It's definitely different. It's still recognizable in the air as Kouros (surprisingly it smells quite different when smelling up close). But one thing it reminded me of was like the old school 90's generic shampoo smell or something. That + Kouros-lite. A scent for someone who doesn't care about pleasing everybody and can take consequences of his choices; because this in not a mass pleaser and doesn't want to be. But my mom gave me a bottle of this when I was 12... TWELVE! You don't give a scent with civet as the main note to a kid who's 12! This scent is a statement of masculinity and boldness from the person who wears to those around him, if you are not that kind of person Kouros will overwhelm you.

Smells like one if those Pagan style stores that has incense, candles, dragon sculpture, gem stones and witch style stuff.....The most disgusting thing I’ve ever smelled, maybe it’s the current formulation, (also I’m into vintage fragrances so don’t even try to call me a designer sauvage type of guy)

Saint Laurent died from brain cancer in 2008 and will be always known as the man who approached fashion differently and wanted women to feel comfortable and elegant at the same time. There's not much to say that hasn't already been said, as Kouros has a reputation that precedes it. It's very French, manly, animalic, etc, etc, you know the rest. Smells like an animal's fur. Kinda like that animal's toilet at times. But then there are the clean elements. Beautiful florals and greens. Spices and incense. That honey accord people love. A salty ambergris and artemisia. It dries into this smoky and slightly raunchy leather that's just incredible with all of the above around it. Believe it or not, it gets positive comments, and for me at least it's very much wife approved. There's nothing I can really add to the comments below in terms of analysis. It's a challenging, unique, distinctive smell - not for everyone (or even, anyone). But I do have this to offer for both the lovers and the haters. But, as soon as that bottle finished i didnt buy more of it (stupid, I guess). I tried Xeruys Rouge and went with it which is also a looooovely fragrance and used a lot in my late teen days (what a success it was...ahahah).

Kouros Yves Saint Laurent has been a staple name in the fashion and perfume industries for a good chunk of the last 60 years and is one of the most iconic luxury fashion houses in the world. A spin-off fragrance Body Kouros was released in 2000, [4] and Kouros Fraicheur by Yves Saint Laurent, a woody chypre fragrance was launched in 1993. [5] Kouros is usually in the top five of all-time greatest male fragrances. The choice of a perfume has as much to do with the regional culture as with one’s preferences. It is even much more controlled by existing social codes than by desires believed to be one’s own. pierre bourdon You can feel the age of this fragrance(40th anniversary in 2021), and as I mentioned in my Guerlain Heritage review, there is nothing modern about it.Dear Mr. FU, If you read my review as a hatemonger you’ve missed the point precisely! This is an INTENSE fragrance, which makes me feel intense emotions, that is exactly what I love about it. I’m happy to see a scent has moved you to the point of defending it at all costs, because it’s exactly that kind of scent. Decomposing this fragrance into its nuances and components is almost a matter of rest. He just smells like Kouros. And that's what I think it is! When a perfume is a fragrance experience and you can't think of anything else. I like this fragrance. I don't feel it's the most magnificent ever, but it is a good one. I generally has slightly damp chalky seaside cliff scent with the salty air with light greenery a good amount of spice and musk. More generally I get a incensey fragrace. EDIT 08.09.2018: The comparison with a sample from an old vintage bottling revealed the following: I am not odorless when it comes to animal notes! The smell of a superficially maintained but obviously in need of renovation pub toilet keeps the above-mentioned warm and soft notes at bay for hours. Housekeeper's comment: "I couldn't sleep the night away because a very Stone Age part of my brain was desperately trying to stop me from sleeping next to a sleeping cougar."
