So this might be a plus or a negative depending on what you like, but the fact that this Viking Revolution Pomade has no scent is a plus in my book. While I do enjoy a great smelling pomade, it’s definitely nice to have an unscented option to go to from time to time. When it comes to great smelling hair pomades, Battle Born pomade is definitely one of my favorites. It has a bay rum fragrance that smells incredibly masculine, and can be described as warm, spicy, sweet, woody, and very inviting. It’s definitely worth a sniff. After talking with Mike about their grooming spray he gave me a technique he uses that works great for him with that one combined with this stuff. So I let my hair completely dry the second day, then re-wet my hair with the grooming spray. After the spray I applied the super hold, per Mike’s instructions. He said it makes the application a little easier and adds a little bit of hold. Once I put the pomade in I noticed that it was actually harder to put in and distribute for me. Combing was almost twice as difficult and took twice as long and I noticed ALOT of hairs got ripped out using this method. I did notice that the pomade distributed quite a bit more evenly and I didn’t have to scoop multiple times. So for me it’s not really that much more of a help, but Mike definitely knows his products so I’d suggest trying it. It might work for you like it does for him, but for me it didn’t really work. Don’t worry though, most people start with Layrite and gradually go for superior quality as they learn more about what to look for in a pomade. Each one of these pomades is specifically formulated to keep pompadours pomping, quiffs quiffing, and side parts…. side partying, I guess?? I don’t know.

If you’re a woman, you can use it too. It’s not ordained for men only, just to let you know. What if you have long hair? I don’t see why you can’t try it. Buy the smallest version you can get but you should be alright though. What Else Should I Know? It’ll also go on all hair lengths. And for the best results, make sure you blow-dry and ensure your hair dries properly. Originally created for barbers, Layrite Superhold pomade is definitely a solid choice if you’re looking for a premium strong hold pomade for men. The brand Layrite was founded in 1999 by a barber named Donnie Hawley, and his goal with Layrite pomade was to create a product that holds like a wax, but easily washes out like a gel – and that’s exactly what makes this product so great. Superhold is a water-based gel pomade and it provides an excellent all-day hold that can handle pretty much any style you’re willing to throw it’s way.Suavecito, on the other hand, is better for those looking for pomade to use on wet hair with a low sheen. Castor oil – A highly moisturizing oil that’s derived from castor beans. It contains ricinoleic acid and omega-6 fatty acids that have been shown to improve blood circulation to the scalp – which can help promote hair growth. I’ve looked at several articles online right now and I’ve found a lot of useful information on the two brands. One thing that’s missing though, is a coherent resource for anyone wanting to compare or buy any of them. In as little as four steps (taking it out, applying it on the palms, scrubbing on the hair, and styling as you wish), the pomade promises to keep your hair in a steady curl balance. Is It for You? It’s also easy to use. Well we are finally at the last installment of the Layrite line. After using both of their lighter holds, we are finishing with their Super Hold. This one is a pretty common product so I’m sure a lot of you guys have used it before. But for those of you who haven’t, here we go. These oil-made pomades are a little difficult to get out of the hair, even when you do shampoo it. The Layrite Superhold is also different because it produces a shine, unlike the matte finish of the Suavecito Pomade. Jojoba wax – Derived from an American shrub, this natural wax is full of vitamins, minerals, and nutrients that help improve hair and scalp health and strength.

Layrite Superhold Pomade

Ask any guy that has used Suavecito Firme Hold what they like most about it and I can almost guarantee one of the first things they will mention is the scent. Firme Hold has a very masculine cologne type fragrance that smells damn good in the hair. It isn’t strong or overbearing, but it definitely adds a masculine touch to the hair and it stays there all day. I showed the holding power this stuff has this time. You can get a decently tall pomp going with this stuff. It won’t make your hair stand straight up, but you can get some nice height with it. It was kind of difficult to get a full pomp with it though. You can kind of see the gaps in the middle of my pomp in the picture. It took me quite a while to comb it to where they weren’t so apparent, but I could still tell they were there. Another great thing about this one is that it washes out easily, just like the Suavecito. It’s a water-based pomade, like Suavecito and a lot easier to remove compared to oil-based pomades.

The Layrite Superhold is a pomade that comes in a similar size to the Suavecito that is designed for difficult-to-manage hair as well as demanding styles. Having said that, Layrite (might) have an advantage over Suavecito in that it styles better, dries moderately, and is not too hard when dry.

If you like one of these two, then go for it. If you feel like there is something I’m missing, let me know in the comment.

Layrite Superhold Pomade 297g | High Hold | Water Soluble

Layrite Superhold Pomade (120g) is a firm hold, water-soluble styling pomade which gives ultimate control and a medium shine finish to challenging, high elevation styles. Developed for use on hard to control, curly or coarse hair of all lengths, it distributes easily and dries to a flexible hold. Pomade.com is an online pomade shop specializing in distribution of performance tested & quality approved hair pomades and shave goods from all over the world. More links Once I finally got my hair coated evenly with pomade I started forming my pomp. For the first day I decided not to go with a super tall pomp just to show what it looks like in hair. So I just combed a medium pomp and went about my day. Now it does say Hy-Sheen on the tub, however my hair had more of a matte look to it. But hey that’s what they have the super shine for, use it as a topper with this one. Okay, so this one, like many other Suavecito products comes with a signature scent that’s difficult to miss. If you answered yes to either of these questions, then this list of best strong hold pomades is definitely for you my friend.Washing it out took me a little bit. It does come out with just water, but it took a little longer than most. I also had to kind of “wash” my hair with my hands under the water. After a couple minutes all of it was out of my hair. Once I got out of the shower and towel dried my hair I noticed that my hair was kind of dried out and coarse. This is one thing I really don’t like about water based pomades. Also why I don’t use them that often, save for a few.
