Game HUD may go to the very edges of the screen. Makes for immersive visuals but difficult to read health etc displays. On some games like Witcher 3 it stays in the center as if the game was running at a 16:9 resolution.

The Asus’s vast contrast means that it’s a little bolder and brighter than the Samsung, although it can look a little too intense. Samsung’s panel doesn’t reach those levels, but it still has fantastic contrast – and its better colours mean that its images look a little more realistic. And both screens are superb when placed in the market; when it comes to colours and contrast, they’re better than the vast majority of other gaming panels. Local dimming is limited to 10 vertical zones. It's not very useful due to the low amount of zones so you will mostly notice it during game loading screens when it lights up sections of the display with small icons etc. Turning HDR on severely washes out any SDR content. You can use Windows HD Color settings to compensate but I recommend just turning HDR on when you plan to use it. No built-in KVM support. You can use a separate KVM switch or software KVM solutions like Barrier, ShareMouse or Synergy for this. It’s an exciting slate of specifications, and Samsung says that this panel can be used for work and play – so it should be versatile.

The display might make some noise on the right side. I am not quite sure what causes this because it doesn't occur all the time. It sounds similar to the fizz of a soda drink. FAQ for Samsung TV. Hz works. Nvidia Control Panel reports 6-bit color with this setting. Same happens for any lower resolution at 144 Hz. Could be usable for gaming. Some games will only show 120 Hz option though. The monitor does not come with the screws for the VESA mount. According to the manual the correct size is '4.0 mm Φ, 0.7 pitch * 10.0 mm long'. FAQ for Samsung PC monitor. Resolution is ~1M pixels less than 4K 16:9. So you can look at 4K benchmarks and add a bit more frames on top of that to figure out roughly how your GPU is going to perform. The width can also boost productivity. It’s great for apps where horizontal real estate is helpful, as the Samsung CRG90 is effectively two 1440p screens without a bezel – and its picture-by-picture modes can force the screen to actually function like this. Refresh rate, response time, low input lag, screen size and screen adjustment options are disabled if Freesync is turned on. The CRG90 pairs its impressive set of features with good image quality. Out of the box, the panel’s Delta E sat at 2.08 – a tad better than the Asus.Compiled some info from various threads and my own experiences because this display gets a fair amount of questions here.

The Samsung’s contrast and colour results remained consistent with the brightness toned down to a more usable 150 nits and with it ramped up to its peak level of 535 nits. FAQ for Samsung PC monitor. Find more about 'How do I safely clean my Samsung computer screen?' with Samsung Support. However, the density level still isn’t able to match 4K screens – a 32-inch 4K panel sits up at 138ppi, and even 40-inch 4K panels serve up 110ppi. 4K screens also have more vertical pixels, and extra vertical space will be more beneficial in some situations. The Samsung’s huge resolution also means that you’ll need a beefy graphics card for gaming. The CRG90 uses 7.3 million pixels, which is less than 1 million behind a 4K screen and far more than the 4.1 million needed by the Asus. Graphical demands will also increase if you want to use AMD’s FreeSync adaptive sync software. The CRG90 is better in virtually every way, but it does come with caveats. The huge resolution and 120Hz FreeSync rate mean you’ll need a powerful graphics card to run games effectively – if you have a lesser GPU or want a 144Hz panel, the Asus is better.
