We have developed a new ultra gloss varnish, and a low shine matte varnish which are both waterproof and scratch resistant. They have been developed to work perfectly with air dry clay and provide a glazed ceramic look. This varnish provides a durable finish without too much sheen. It has the lowest sheen of all our varnishes and gives a lovely 'skin feel'. Dries in around 30 minutes depending on conditions but requires a curing time of 24-48 hours to properly set.Will the colours stay true? Yes, absolutely. All oil based paints yellow over time depending on how much light they are subjected to – including Genesis paints. Our paints have no oil in at all and the colours will always remain true. Choose a suitable matte varnish for the medium use. You should not use a matte varnish for oil paintings on acrylic paintings or watercolors. Yes, they are totally non-flammable and unrestricted unlike Odourless mineral thinners which are now illegal and prohibited within the postal system.
