Retrieved 2009-12-31. What a fantastic read. I was so engrossed after the first couple of chapters, I had to sneak time in to finish it. I can't wait to pass on the book to my 12‐year‐old and tell others about it at the store."

In the first book, Ari's personality was adult and sadistic. However, in the second and third book, his thoughts and feelings were more like those of a seven-year-old. In the second book, he stole a Game Boy and was disgusted by a woman holding a bra in public. The Maximum Ride: The Final Warning represents the uniqueness of American story telling. The language used helps the reader link to the plot. They relate at several levels. They would like to emulate the actions of the leading characters. Costume plays would help to bring out the latent acting talent in them. Not long after, Fang calls Max and asks her to meet him in San Diego. The groups meet at a hotel restaurant, where the members vie for dominance and brag about their powers. Fang and Max begin to argue, revealing that Fang is jealous of Dylan, while Max is jealous of Maya. The groups get into a food fight and are nearly arrested, Dylan defuses the situation by singing. Later, when both groups are on a plane, Gazzy mentions that Dylan was made to be Max's mate, which infuriates Fang. He and Max argue again, only for Angel to calm them down. Fang and Max awkwardly agree to work together to search for the Doomsday Group. This was supposed to be the last book in the series, but it was announced later that Maximum Ride Forever would be released in 2015.

I loved this book! It was sooo exciting and suspenseful that I literally jumped when something would happen. The narrator's voice was hilarious; I laughed out loud in the middle of my English class. It was a great book, and I can't wait until the next one comes out." Ari's greatest desire was to have his father be proud of him, and he was extremely and horribly jealous of how his father doted on Max. This expressed itself violently; he talked about choking Jeb to get more attention. He was ecstatic when Jeb expressed pride in School's Out - Forever, when Ari laid out his plan to steal Max. The manga follows rather faithfully to the books, but each one has slight differences, and so far each volume of the manga contains about half the storyline of one book. For example, the first volume contains about the first half of The Angel Experiment, and the second volume contains the second half. Volume 7 was released in October 2013 and features Max once again on the cover. It finishes the third book and begins The Final Warning. As an avian-human hybrid, Fang's physical attributes are enhanced to the point his speed and strength are superior to normal teenagers and even most adults. He uses this to keep up with Erasers in combat. However these attributes are inferior to newer enhanced beings such as Dylan, Kate, Star, and Horsemen. Fang goes with Max to visit Dr. Martinez, and stays with her while she has surgery. On pain medication, she confesses that she loves him, which he later teasingly tells her about. However, he finds a picture of the Gasman in Dr. Martinez's office, making him wary of the seemingly kind woman. Despite this, Fang kisses Max later in the book. In Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports, the two reconciled, with Max coming to see him as a vulnerable little brother, and teaching him how to read. She was heartbroken when he died.Jeb cloned Ari perfectly, retaining all of his memories. The new Ari was accompanied by a crew of other clones known as the Not-Aris, who were sent with a mission to kill Fang. This clone killed Maya, but was later killed in turn by Dylan. Patterson is not just for adults anymore. With the Maximum Ride series he has created edgy, taut thrillers that teens won't be able to put down. The characters are easy to identify with, and I can't wait to see what happens to Max and her family next!" I loved MAXIMUM RIDE. I could not put it down. I finished it in 1 day. While different than Patterson's When the Wind Blows, I still enjoyed reading more about the winged children. I can't wait for the next one to come out."
