Yes, there is the option to connect a garden hose and continually drain water from the dehumidifier Perfect for damp, mould or condensation areas - suited for apartments, flats, smaller properties and single rooms. To make things easier, Arete comes with a hose adapter to allow you to use a standard garden hose for continuous drainage if you need it. On many devices when you select a night mode or a sleep mode they leave a light on to indicate that it is in the mode or they forget to turn off the bleeps so a press of a button is accompanied by an annoying noise. The control panel on Arete One has simple and clearly laid out controls. The buttons that you use most often are larger; the buttons that you hardly ever use are small. Large buttons include controls for Smart Humidity Control and Smart Laundry either of which can be set by pressing just one button.

We live in a damp Victorian end of terrace house and were constantly battling mould and musty smells until we invested in a dehumidifier. For comparison, Pro Breeze's most energy-effecient comprssor dehumidifier, the Pro Breeze 12L Low Energy Dehumidifier, uses 220W to the MeacoDry 12L Arete One's 151W, and costs roughly 6p per hour to run.The Pro Breeze Low Energy dehumidifier also has several other issues that the MeacoDry 12L Arete One does not, as you'll find out in my Pro Breeze 12L Low Energy dehumidifier review. Don’t use an electrical appliance in a bathroom, just open the bathroom door and run the machine in the hallway instead. Many customers prefer the 20L Low Energy because of its larger airflow and motorised direction louvre combined with the larger water tank. This handle feels far more robust than most that I've come across on other dehumidifiers and is really easy to grip. A set of 3 medical-grade H13 HEPA filters compaitable with the MeacoDry Arete® One 12L Dehumidifier and Air Purifier for cleaner air in your home, with 99.95% retention of particles as small as 0.3 micrometers in diameter. These high-efficiency HEPA filters will help against allergies and irritations. HEPA filters should be replaced when the colour changes from white to dark grey - roughly every 3 months. Creation Consumer Finance Ltd is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (Register no. 311518). A good dehumidifier unit should fit seamlessly into your home. Quiet, easy to use and easy to move around your home, Arete® is designed to make your life simpler. Water tank There’s a 2.5-litre tank in the model that I’ve reviewed, with the machine able to remove up to 10-litres of water per day maximum

A simple easy to use control panel – we made the most often used buttons larger and the least used buttons smaller. Brand new for 2022. Since launching in 2021, our Arete® One 20L and Arete® One 25L models have been a major hit with customers and reviewers alike. Winning Which? Best Buy awards and a Quiet Mark award, Arete® is proving that when you listen to your customers, everything turns out right. Quieter than ever, designed to fit beautifully into your home and with simple controls and a built-in air purifier, Arete® is a market leader in every way, saving you money straight away. After I'd waited the six hours from unboxing to allow the refrigerant to settle, I was ready to put the MeacoDry Arete One dehumidifier to the test. Because this isn’t a dedicated air purifier, it doesn’t have sensors to determine the air quality so the air purifier won’t automatically correct 'bad' air and will only work when the dehumidifier is running, but it’s still a great additional feature to have included. Energy use The only quieter dehumidifiers I've come across are Peltier models, like the Pro Breeze 1500ml Mini Dehumidifier. However, Peltier dehumidifiers are far less powerful than compressor dehumidifiers. For comparison, as I discovered in my Pro Breeze 1500ml Mini Dehumidifier review, this Peltier model can only extract 0.5L of moisture from the air per day, compared to the MeacoDry Arete One range which can extract 10, 12, 20, or 25L of moisture per day! PortabilitySaying that we have tested it downstairs in our open plan living/dining room, as well as in our horribly damp kitchen, and it was really efficient there too. Definitely a good choice for a bigger house or living space. Here we have the MeacoDry Arete One 10L model; there is a slightly more powerful 12L model. Both sport the same design and are relatively small in size, much like an air purifier. The rating refers to the amount of water that can be extracted per day, but both have a 2.5-litre water tank. We feel that the Night Mode is not just for night time but anytime when you want the dehumidifier to be as quiet as possible. The original MeacoDry Arete One was a large yet sensibly designed dehumidifier for larger homes, even giving the option to permanently feed water into a drain. Here, we have the MeacoDry Arete One 10L. It’s a more compact product, built for smaller properties up to two bedrooms, but it’s small size is also ideal for placing it in utility rooms or outdoor garden rooms. Design and Features Plus, when running the dehumidifier in the kitchen, I found that it got rid of odours from cooking.

The only downsides for me are that there is no timer, and this dehumidifier doesn't have any Wi-Fi compatibility, which is a bit of a shame because I’d love to have been able to operate it remotely via an App. But, considering this dehumidifier does such a stellar job, these few points are very easy to overlook. Dehumidifiers are fast becoming a must-have home appliance. As well as removing moisture from the air, which can help if your home suffers from dampness and mould, the best dehumidifiers can also help to reduce indoor laundry drying times and improve indoor air quality. As is the case with all dehumidifiers, power requirements and performance will depend on relative humidity and temperature. For example, at 10ºC with 60% relative humidity, the MeacoDry Arete One 10L can extract 1.41-litres of moisture per day, running at 129W. Get up to 30ºC and 80% relative humidity, and the MeacoDry Arete One 10L will extract 10.42-litres of water per day, running at 199W. Typically, given the UK climate, this model will cost around 4p per hour to run. The water tank is placed at the front of the machine, so if it is pushed up against the wall, you can still access that easily. In fact, this is the quietest compressor dehumidifier I've tested, far outperforming any of the other models we've tested on this front.

What do you use your dehumidifier for? Does it meet your needs?

In fact, the MeacoDry dehumidifier range as a whole comprises the most energy efficent dehumidifiers that we've come across, regularly beating their main competitor – Pro Breeze – on cost to run. We didn’t realise for the first few months and then accidentally found it when we were cleaning a few months later. The dehumidifier was already pretty powerful with the plastic bag inside it, but even better when we removed it! there is no doubt that the quality of the dehumidifiers has improved over the years, especially the DD8L range. We do have many thousands of customers who have owned their DD8Ls for 7 years plus. How long they last is often down to environmental reasons. The MeacoDry Arete One dehumidifier's Smart Laundry mode also makes it one of the best dehumidifiers for drying clothes that I've tested.

Finally, you can press and hold the humidity button to activate the fan-only mode, which just runs the humidifier as an air purifier. Performance This is the new Meaco MeacoDry Arete One 10L, which isn’t just a dehumidifier because it’s also an air purifier too. That’s great news for me as the Meaco dehumidifier I currently own (as opposed to ones I test) is getting a little long in the tooth, so I’ve been keen to try this most recent addition to the Meaco product portfolio. Having a dehumidifier with the option to transform it into an air purifier adds even more appeal, as far as I’m concerned. As well as the standard mode, there’s a laundry mode, which sets the target relative humidity to 35% and runs the machine for a maximum of six hours. It’s designed to help dry laundry hanging on a clothes rail.

Why did you choose this dehumidifier?

We have not included a free hose in our dehumidifiers for a few years now because more than 90% of users told us that they do not use them, so they just end up in landfill. Our aim is to reduce plastic waste, so we changed the way we do things.
