About this deal

Customise your dash cam for all round protection with Nextbase's add-on cameras (sold separately). Simply plug in an add-on camera to record the road behind as well as the road ahead. Connect the Rear View Camera or Rear Window Camera for an extra layer of protection against tailgaters and rear impacts, or connect the Cabin View Camera for a wide angle lens to record inside the vehicle. As the GW in its name indicates, this camera comes with GPS and Wi-Fi. At 10Hz, the GPS antenna is twice as fast as usual, resulting in much more accurate location and speed stamps than the usual 5-times-per-second refresh rate. A 3″ touch screen allows for easy setup and operation, even if you don’t have a smart phone or don’t want to connect it to the camera for whatever reason.

The 140-degree lens isn’t as wide as some other options, such as 180-degree dash cams from Garmin. But we still found the Nextbase’s view to be wide enough, providing a complete view across the front of our car, and without distortion. faqaccordion article {padding-top: 0!important;font-size: 1.2em; line-height: 1.2em; padding-left: 0.7em; padding-right: 0.7em;} There are two options to installing a dash cam, the easiest is the 12v cigarette lighter dash cam installation, but the neatest is using a hardwire kit. While we simply mounted the 522GW in the lower center section of the windshield of our test vehicle, a 2021 Hyundai Venue, Nextbase recommends placing it at the top of the windshield, near the rearview mirror. The company also advises running the 13-foot power cord behind interior panels to hide and protect it, and provides a small tool to help with this. Features and Video Quality a>
