About this deal

The headset's weight distribution generally felt good, which is important considering the Quest is built for movement and lots of turning and looking up and down. Our favorite is by far the Quest 2 strap with battery. Not only is it the best way to extend the battery life of your Oculus Quest 2, but the weight of the battery makes the headset feel less front-weighted, improving comfort. Unlike other headsets that require additional equipment, external sensors or a lengthy set-up process, once the Quest is charged up you can be up-and-running within a few minutes thanks to an easy set-up within the Oculus mobile app. Oculus says you can expect the Quest to last 2 to 3 hours after a full charge, depending on whether you're watching media or playing games. Like the Oculus Quest, the Oculus Quest 2 is a standalone VR headset that requires nothing more than a charging cable, some AA batteries and enough room to swing a virtual cat. In the box, you’ll find the headset, two controllers, a charging cable and a spacer for glasses wearers. That’s it.

If you want to restore your save game, simply reinstall your game and then follow the instructions below:Right now, we're still awaiting further news on Meta's next two headsets, Project Cambria and Oculus Quest 3 (also known as the Meta Quest 3). In the meantime thought, we've seen some unusual accessories being developed for the existing Quest 2 headset, including one which suffocates you to better simulate firefighting in virtual reality. Offering access to both these play scenarios through one headset line is a wise move by Facebook, reducing the amount of hardware it supports. However, as mobile VR now becomes the default for Oculus (not everyone has a gaming PC, after all), we hope that that doesn’t dull the ambitions of developers. We wouldn't want to see apps focus solely on the lower-powered mobile headset and give a cold shoulder to the more powerful made-for-PC experiences that can be achieved. Oculus Quest 2: Accessories

Second: updating the SOC to a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 with the Adreno 640 GPU, improving the graphics by up to around 40% and improving the speed and power efficiency at the same time. Hopefully they continue to update the chipset every year with the latest and greatest Snapdragon Processor and Adreno GPU. Another cool thing is the Oculus Quest for your smartphone. It not only gives you easy access to all kinds of settings, the store, your library etc, but ... it also allows you to view what the player is viewing or even cast the video feed to ChromeCast. This is great when wanting to follow a player or when wanting to help out those new to the VR experience. Over time I found that I would rarely actually use it, as it took quite an effort to set everything up (3 sensors).A gameplay area that's a minimum of 2 meters x 2 meters or 6.5 feet x 6.5 feet is recommended, but you can play in less than that, you'll just need to draw out available space. Those in small homes will be happy to hear you can also bypass all of this and just play standing still or sitting in a much smaller sphere of movement. First: the option to plug a long cable from the Quest to the PC, allowing PC graphics to be played on the Quest, when you are home but still having the standalone option for traveling. While RiftCat is an option, fast Wi-Fi is not always an option to everyone. The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners will scratch that zombie-slaying itch, Cook-Out is a scrumptious cookery co-op venture, and Pistol Whip is an addictive rhythm-based shooter. You’ve also got the amazing Echo VR, which is essentially PvP online multiplayer volleyball in zero gravity. It’s a surreal experience and one of the best showcases of VR’s potential.

The only other port on the headset is the USB-C slot for charging. There are very few physical buttons on the headset, with the volume control found on the underside and a power button on the right. If you squeeze the controllers too hard the battery cover might slide off. Buying a cover for them or some scotch tape will help.

To start. The screen is very sharp. At least for current standards. You're not looking at real life obviously, but it gets the job done and the pixels are hardly noticeable. I cannot say the same for other headsets where the pixels are too noticeable and very distracting, however I feel like a theater experience when watching videos is a great trade-off for a bit more obvious pixels. Speaking of the Guardian; it seems to remember earlier settings, which is nice when you're playing on the same spot again in the future. Being able to see your surroundings while setting the Guardian is awesome! Something I missed with the original Rift. If that’s not enough, you can buy the Oculus Link cable to hook the headset up to your gaming PC and play games such as Asgard’s Wrath and Lone Echo. It’s even possible to access SteamVR, which means the likes of Half-Life: Alyx and Skyrim VR are on the menu. Previous Quest owners will notice there’s no physical IPD slider. Instead, you can just pull on the eye cups to toggle between three preset positions. I personally found the default setting perfectly comfortable, but it’s still good to see Meta allowing for some customisation. Controllers
