I really loved Joanna’s personality and her in general. I felt a kinship with Joanna in that I also love to stay in, get comfy, and spend my day reading! That’s my soul sister right there! Plus just like her, I don’t really care much for sports, but like if I had a man such as, Knox inviting me to his football game then… I could possibly be persuaded to become a full fledged sports fanatic *wink, wink. Joanna had a sweetest to her that was endearing and obviously Knox loved that about her since he was completely obsessed with her. Even the way Joanna took it upon herself to help Knox with his dyslexia, and providing him all the necessary tools to help him in class was sweet. Knox is quite an easy-going, easy-going guy who felt uncomfortable at the start of his senior year. An injury early in his college football career looms, as does a class Knox has feared throughout his college career: English. Knox struggles with reading and writing and realizes early on that she will need help with her classes. There he meets Joanna, who has just separated. Her longtime boyfriend has cheated on her and for the first time Joanna is ready to explore singleness and maybe she can enjoy single life with a certain handsome and charming football player. Being truthful gets me attention I don’t want. Because I don’t watch the game. I never watch the game. It should come as no surprise that I loved this sports romance book. It was just absolutely adorable, yet still managed to be HOT.

Colin is feeling guilty as he never kept some promises he made and also one that he is trying to atone for. He had once promised Danny his best friend that he would take care of Jen if anything happened to him. I attend Colorado University and our college football team is made up of the most popular guys on campus. The Golden Eagles are loved. They are revered. When the fall semester starts, they’re all anyone talks about: every single conversation, everywhere you turn. The day after their games, where they almost always win? Joanna doesn’t want to catch anyone. Popular, unpopular, hardworking, sports star. None of those. She’s burned and isn’t ready to put herself through any more pain. But Knox interests him, as much as he tries not to notice. And behind the gamer facade they think he has, he’s oddly honest and charming. But should they be? Knox, however, is irresistible. Next thing I know we’re getting hot and heavy in the library, and that was never part of the plan. When Knox admits he can’t stop thinking about me, it dawns on me.Knox is not what I expected. I mean, yes, he’s taken advantage of what’s coming his way as an athlete, but he’s also more mature for his age because he’s no longer looking for emptiness. He may even just have to keep an eye on his studies and football this semester because he now has the one class on his schedule he was dreading. But when he meets Joanna, he can’t help but be intrigued. And he can’t help but hope his guardian is the “Jo Jo” he’s trying to figure out the real name of… Fable is working as hard as a slave so that she can get money to feed and sustain herself and Owen her brother. However, she still misses Drew and forgets their love but she is hot the type of woman that would wait forever for a man. Finally, most of them are extremely good looking. Even if they’re not attractive in the traditional sense with a handsome, symmetrical face, the majority of them have a raw magnetism that draws people in—specifically women. There’s always a crowd around them, mostly female, though the guys on campus idolize them as well. No matter where they go, they’re surrounded. Even mobbed sometimes. It’s wild. For the readers who read Owen Maguire’s romance story, Knox and Blair are his children. But if you haven’t read that story, there is no need to read that first.) Playing Hard to Get - Monica Murphy

i loved this book. you could see they were gone for each other from the vary start, but i would have like to see how they handled Knox getting drafted, how things changed, what challenges they faced. the reason i gave this book 4 stars instead of 5 was because i feel like the book cut off right in the middle of their story, these characters had so much more to give and go through together. it felt like there should have been a sequel. This is such a light-hearted, sweet romance book, but I didn't fall in love with it. It was a cute story and super easy read, but I feel like there wasn't much plot to it, and I didn't really connect with the characters. Murphy loves to describe herself as a mother of three and wife who makes her home on the foothills of Yosemite on fourteen acres of land with her husband, kids, dog, and too many cats.Playing Hard To Get is a classic tutoring trope mixed with an obsessed guy and a little bit of friends for lovers. Knox was absolutely smitten with Joanna from the start, and it was adorable to see this cinnamon roll (with a slightly dirty side) fall in love. I loved Joanna and her no-nonsense attitude – she kept Knox on his toes. Refusing to be an afterthought in Knox’s life, she really did learn something about herself. Playing hard to get’ might be a ‘sweet’ story with no drama but it had some steamy and hot sex scenes in it. The story’s told from both POV’s. Monica Murphy’s novel “Second Chance Boyfriend” is set two months following the events of the debut novel of the series. Drew had brought her into his fake life but while they had some good time she later found out that he was hiding some dark secrets.
