About this deal

Adrian is losing control of himself because the goddess Dis is controlling him more and more. As Dis is enraged at Adrian’s desire for freedom after being reunited with Isolde. He can’t be set free unless someone uses magic against him to break Dis’s hold on him, which doesn’t happen in this book. However, it is something that many people are afraid of. Which is why they go after Isolde, who is his only weakness. Adrian will die if Isolde dies. Those were what Adrian loved about Isolde. They shared a common stone heart and dark motivations in every way. Hatred and rage sharpened Adrian. At first, he hoped Isolde would calm his raging heart and lessen his hatred. But he was a creature forged by violence and will never thrive on peace. When Isolde is transformed into a werewolf, instead of adjusting to her new abilities, she freaks out and refers to Adrian as a monster. Then she says she’s not comparing being a werewolf to his condition, despite the fact that several vampires can shapeshift. And likely Adrian can as well as we don’t know what his abilities are. Enter the brutal and elite world of a war college for dragon riders from USA Today bestselling author Rebecca Yarros Things I already love about this book even though I’ve only read the first three chapters because Net Galley rules, and it’s available in the Read Now section so… I’m not saying run to get them, but I sure did.

The corners of Adrian’s lips curled, and he learned closer, his breath on my lips as he spoke. “If that is your wish, I shall build it myself.” The Content Warning in the very beginning of the book, which includes several phone numbers to reach to if you need them. Absolutely love that idea, and I think more authors should implement it - especially in books dealing with TWs as severe as these ones.Overall, I give Queen of Myth and Monsters 3.25 stars out of 5. I plan to read the next book in this series because I believe that now that the revelations have occurred, more can be done with the story. Plus, as a vampire, Isolde will have to relearn how to use her powers/magic. And perhaps, just maybe, Isolde will mature as a character. But if Isolde doesn’t improve as a person in the next book and it’s not the end of the series, I might just give up and DNF the rest. I seriously can’t stand Isolde as she is right now unless she starts caring about people other than herself. A former slave fighting for justice. A reclusive warrior who no longer believes it exists. And a dark magic that will entangle their fates. Isolde: “You don’t. You love me through the fear, even when my doubt hurts, and I will do the same for you.” BOMBASTIC side eye🫣 this felt nothing like king of battle and blood. nobody talk to me, i am mourning.

I read King of Battle and Blood, the first book in the “Adrian X Isolde” series, just recently. And I was very into it. There was magic and battle and vampires and an enemies-to-lovers romance that went hard on the steamy front. So, I was pretty excited to see that the second book was already out. I was very interested in seeing where this story went next, after learning there was so much more history to the story of Adrian and Isolde than I’d originally thought. How far would you go for love? When Isolde, one of queens of myth and monsters first met Adrian, the love of her life, that question kept circling in her head. Because she was certain that involving her heart with Adrian would endanger the safety of her homeland and her father. Isolde, newly coronated queen, has finally found a king worthy of her in the vampire Adrian. But their love for each other has cost Isolde her father and her homeland. With two opposing goddesses playing mortals and vampires against one another, Isolde is uncertain who her allies are in the vampire stronghold of Revekka. It is an extraordinary piece of work, a perfect balancing act with terror on one side and love on the other. This exceptionally well-written novel is all about suspense, thrill, and drama, including the relationships between generations and what happens between long-standing friends. The characters are sensitively portrayed, as is their recovery, and the hopeful ending is realistic. Readers of domestic dramas will be enthralled. For those who love gritty, somewhat nasty mysteries with weird, and exotic settings in one of the world’s most famous cities, this thriller mystery will satisfy you. It is perfect for a long plane trip or a rainy weekend. Queen of Myth and Monsters by Scarlett St. Clair PDF/ePub Details They both have the habit of just killing people to kill then over tiny insults. Things normal people who may be vampires would just ignore. This book starts off like maybe a few days after the first book ends. Isolde is deep within her grief after what happened with her father at the end of book 1. Adrian and her seem to be getting into arguments a lot, so it seemed to me. Like I remember in book 1 how he was supportive of her and her "unique" personality, and in this book he kind of fights her for being her. I also do not like how their past relationship keeps being brought up because Isolde doesn't have all of her memories and he does. Plus this relationship is different and even though she has the memories she isn't her past self. To quote Scarlet, the author, “Everyone in this book is suffering, and I think the hard part is trying to decide if you are really against anyone because they all have their motives—but that’s the interesting part of being morally grey, and in a lot of ways, I hope you struggle to decide.” I had high hopes for this book. I was hoping that now that Isolde has remembered her previous life, we would learn more about the characters. However, she does not recall many details until after they would have been useful. As a result, we spend the entire book behind. Which doesn’t help because there’s a traitor in Adrian’s inner circle, so every interaction makes you wonder if the person is telling the truth. We lose attachment to the characters we interact with because there is no trust. I understand why it was done because that is how Isolde felt. However, when the betrayal occurs, there is no emotional connection. Because we, as readers, have no emotional attachment to those characters and relationships. As a result, Isolde feels off. She gets angry and hurt, even though she had been suspicious of them the whole time. Like, make up your mind. Did you trust them or not? Isolde laments not being able to do magic like she used to, despite the fact that she most likely can. Most likely because she suppressed those abilities after remembering being burned alive in a previous life. Oh goodness – I would *definitely* let you know if I could. But this was a library book, so I don’t have it at hand any more… If I remember correctly, it’s an in-the-past situation. I think it was a “seen in a vision” type thing. But a lot of the content in this novel was pretty graphic, so though it doesn’t happen in real time or to the main character, it might still be intense to read. Scarlett St. Clair’s Queen of Myth and Monsters is the second book in her Adrian x Isolde series. Unlike the first book, we get multiple points of view. I read the first book in this series over a year ago and remember really enjoying it. So I had high expectations for this book. As I share my thoughts, I’ll try not to give too many spoilers, but there may be a few (though I tried to be as vague as possible regarding the plot while still sharing my opinions on things). Synopsis There is no understanding it,” Adrian said. “Because it is hate, and hate can exist with no reason.”Things I like? I always love Isolde and her murder-y ways and vibes. She's an antiheroine who is very confused by her new life and is trying to find a way to adapt but stuff keep happening. I always want heroines like her where they're not afraid to dirty their hands and love doing it.
