IN March 2022, Rangers Football Club will celebrate the monumental milestone of the club's 150th anniversary. 2021 will see the build-up to this special occasion begin, with that landmark being followed shortly afterwards by the 50th anniversary of our European Cup Winners’ Cup win celebrations in May 2022.

IN March 2022, it will be exactly 150 years since four young boys – Moses McNeil, Peter McNeil, William McBeath and Peter Campbell – followed their dream to start a football team and begin an adventure within the new, emerging world of association football. What they did have though was ambition, passion and commitment and from these roots Rangers Football Club was born.Every MyGers membership contributes to the success of the first team as MyGers membership revenue goes directly towards the first team investment. And club chairman Douglas Park insists it will be huge for the club as he promised supporters will be at the centre of it. Dedication to success is something that has been instilled at the club since our formative years and ‘The Moonlighters’ evening will allow supporters to take part in an evening stadium tour and view some of our earliest memorabilia and artefacts in the company of legends and club historians.

The ribbon which features below the crest design was influenced by the decorative crests from the club's earliest documented member books which feature an ornamental scroll ribbon. The ribbon design is synonymous with Ibrox where it features in the crests displayed on the side elevation of the iconic Bill Struth Main Stand. The club, formed in 1872 have a series of huge events lined up to mark the momentous anniversary, including the opening of a stunning new museum at Edmiston House. As an extra special touch, the words “Gallant Pioneers” have been embossed into the fabric to immortalise the great Bill Struth’s quote:“No matter the days of anxiety that come our way, we shall emerge stronger because of the trials to be overcome. That has been the philosophy of the Rangers since the days of the gallant pioneers.” It was a big hit with Scotland fans with one even branding it a "work of art" and others commenting "Take my money."

The game is part of the club’s 150th anniversary celebrations with the fixture taking place during the March international break. Rangers unveiled the kit via a special video that uses images and archive footage to take fans through the club’s history before substituting several current first-team stars – wearing the 150th anniversary kit – into the first-ever Gers team photo. The white design pays tribute to the club’s first team photograph in 1877, while the goalkeeper kit is blue.Founded in 1948 but still a family-owned company to this day, Douglas Laing will produce the following six, special Rangers spirits this season to cater to all tastes. As Europe’s first major club to reach 150 years, Rangers are determined to celebrate the landmark to the maximum, with work already well-underway to make it a season and a year to remember for our fans all around the world. It features both the old-fashioned Lion Rampant crest and Adidas badge, with the iconic three stripes on the sleeve which are the same colour as the rest of the top.
