That's a slight delay out of June 2023; the release window given last summer. This one is looking pretty... Gould, Elie (5 June 2023). "RoboCop: Rogue City preview - not your average cyborg". RoboCop: Rogue City is a brand new first-person action game on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC that puts you in control of the cyborg as you patrol the streets of Old Detroit to solve crimes and serve the public trust.

There's just something about RoboCop. Maybe it's an age thing, maybe you just had to be there, but the ultra-violent tin cop sits alongside the likes of Knight Rider, Terminator and lots of other 1980s goodies as a property that immediately gets our excitement levels right up to the max as soon as it's mentioned. We'll sit through as many awful tie-ins, sequels and computer games as we're asked to, is what we're saying, as long as we get to spend a little time stomping around in the metal boots of the Detroit Police Department's finest. RoboCop: Rogue City features an original storyline based on the first three RoboCop films. The game is being developed by Teyon, and is published by Nacon in partnership with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, which holds the rights to the franchise. [11] The three companies worked together to ensure it is faithful to the films; [12] the development team watched them multiple times to incorporate their satirical aspect, especially that of the first film. [8] Stewart, Marcus (24 August 2023). "RoboCop: Rogue City Begins Its Mission In November". Game Informer . Retrieved 27 August 2023. Publisher Nacon has revealed a new release date for its upcoming shooter Robocop: Rogue City - well, sort of. We don't have a full nailed on release date just yet, but the Robocop FPS is coming to Xbox Series X|S in September 2023. It makes for a unique-feeling shooter - a game that can often feel very basic, tired, repetitive and old-hat, chiefly because it is all of these things - 100%. It's all very dated and has no real surprises up its sleeve; it's got weird uncanny valley NPCs, linear missions, a bunch of very run-of-the-mill guns and some of the worst grenades in the grenade business. If you don't care about RoboCop. If you are a fan though, there's something more here. There's immaculate recreations of some of the movie's most famous locations, lots of old characters make cameos, Peter Weller reprises his iconic role (enough to sell the most ardent fans) and the writing is absolutely on the money.Aiming for release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, RoboCop: Rogue City will "combine first-person shooter gameplay with exploration of Detroit and multiple-choice dialogue," according to Nacon. The game was first announced last year, and is based on the original 1987 movie – but will tell a brand new story in that setting. It's being developed by Teyon, which previously created Terminator: Resistance. Released: 2nd November 2023. Become the iconic part man, part machine, all cop hero as you attempt to bring justice to the dangerous, crime-ridden streets of Old Detroit. ralphdibny first two find were great u are right and I know I watched it as a kid aswell full of drugs murder gore and much more for a kids film haha

So Terminator is good (currently enjoying on PC) . Robocop is good. The next game better be RoboCop vs Terminator since they have the rights to these worlds..... a b Leri, Michael (5 June 2023). "RoboCop: Rogue City Dev Talks About Nailing the Signature Tone & the Game's Morality System". GameRevolution . Retrieved 27 August 2023. Given how far licensed games have come since Arkham Asylum, Teyon could have been more adventurous. The game's adherence to the structure and ideas of the original films also has some unfortunate ramifications. For example, the portrayal of Detroit PD as honest, hardworking blue-collar workers struggling against budget constraints sits a lot less comfortably in 2023, when we know US police budgets are vastly overinflated compared to other public sectors, and that issues like corruption and racism are endemic within policing in a way that has little to do with corporate ownership. The difficulty does get a much-needed jumpstart by the halfway point once enemies start deploying more firepower, encouraging me to think more strategically about positioning and what abilities to upgrade. However, their mindless, easily exploitable AI doesn’t improve, and I even managed to trap a mini-boss in a corner, leaving it helpless as I put it out of its misery.
