Enjoy the unique, often imitated films showing the sexual freedoms of the 1960's, as only seen through the eyes of the one and only independent filmmaker, cult hero, and icon RUSS MEYER. Sexy blond actress Renate Hütte appeared under the names of Rena Horten and Renate Hutter in several German and American films and TV series of the 1960´s. She dated and worked with sexploitation director Russ Meyer.

Meyer was dissatisfied with the film, and for years afterwards he complained of Hempel's unsuitability for her part. In the late 1990s Hempel, now Lady Weinberg, bought the British rights; since then it has not been seen on UK television, though it has been released on DVD there.

During the 1960’s, sexy actress Britt Lindberg had a brief career in German sex films, farces and thrillers. Jean Eustache's The Mother and the Whore is in limbo for the latter reason, and a dream project that I was trying to develop with the BFI collapsed thanks to the filmmaker's granddaughter's wildly unrealistic revenue expectations. Yes, the films she represented are of staggering historical importance, but they're only ever going to attract a niche audience, and no amount of clever marketing is going to change that. After 1968, Britt Lindberg’s film career went downhill. She had a bit part in the TV series Finke & Co. (1969, Otto Meyer) with Michael Ande. A year later she played her final film part in Liebesmarkt in Dänemark/Golden Bananas (1970, Benno Bellenbaum, Günter Vaessen). She was last seen on TV in the miniseries Coralba (1970, Daniele D’Anza) starring Rossano Brazzi and Valérie Lagrange. Once again she played bit part as a prostitute, just like in her first film. Britt Lindberg is not to be confused with Swedish actress and model Christina Lindberg, who was born as Britt Christina Marinette Lindberg in 1950. oldsheperd wrote:I highly recommend the Arrow boxset of Russ Meyer films. 18 films on 12 discs some with commentaries and featurettes.
