And his master praised the unrighteous steward because he had acted shrewdly; for the sons of this age are more shrewd in relation to their own kind than the sons of light. The unjust steward.--Literally, the steward of unrighteousness, St. Luke using the half-Hebrew idiom of a genitive of the characteristic attribute. (Comp. the "mammon of unrighteousness" in Luke 16:9, and the "unjust judge" of Luke 18:6, where the same idiom is used.) Karna is another favorite character of mine. As a Resht, he is the lowest in the caste system. But, due to his friendship with a prince, he gets appointed to a position of great political power; which draws the ire of many who don't feel his kind is fit for that role. Karna is a warrior, not a politician, but his desire to help his fellow Reshts force him into dangerous situations amongst the court. Karna is probably the only main character I would describe as morally good. He suffers a lot due to his naivety and kind-heartedness, but his sense of justice kept me rooting for him throughout the story.

Pulpit Commentary Verse 5. - Ye are all the children of the light, and the children of the day. Hebraistic expressions denoting, Ye all belong to the light and to the day. An affirmation, strengthening the previous declaration. The light and the day are synonymous expressions - the day being the period of light, as opposed to the night and darkness. My favorite non-pov (or minor pov) character is Satyabhama. Krishna's wife, she is, in her own right, a great warrior and perhaps the best in Mathura. She also is the leader of the Silver Wolves; a group of discarded daughters who she nurtured and turned into a squad of elite soldiers. A calm, composed, women with an intimidating presence. She is the source of inspiration and respect for many and a great example on how someone can be a loving figure and a badass. Paul finishes this explanation with a promise. The day of the Lord will be a terrible day. It is the Day when the destruction of the Sons of Darkness finally takes place. All rebels and idolaters will finally be called to account for their treason against YHWH. As Paul says in verse 10: Jesus died for us so that whether we are alive or dead, those of us who have sworn our allegiance to the King will come to life together with him.Through humor, torture, gore, lust, magic, dangerous power games and bloodcurdling battles, Sons of Darkness takes us on an unforgettable wild journey set in re-imagined Vedic India.” – SAN FRANCISCO BOOK REVIEW The master commended the dishonest manager for his shrewdness. Reviews

However, even though I greatly enjoyed the plot threads of this story. My favorite part was definitely the characters. There are 6 main povs and a few more who have a few sprinkled in there. Normally having this many pov's can be overwhelming. But the story is split into sections where you get 2 main and 1-2 side povs during it so you never feel overwhelmed. Additionally each character is distinct enough that you always feel like you're getting something fresh in terms of different morals, motivations, and traits. for all of you are sons of Light and sons of the day.
