SoundPEATS have decided to go with the touch controls for all of the functionality. All you need to do is tap the logo area of the earbuds and they are very touch-sensitive. It may take someone who is new to touch controls a few days to learn how to bring up each control but soon you will master it. Great looks, comfortable fit, and excellent sound make these earphones an impulse buy for those looking for affordable true wireless earbuds without ANC. Intro Besides the touch control, there is a magnetic charging connector and with a total of four microphones, 2 for each bud, which is responsible for reducing ambient noise for good and clear sound reception during calls and to accurately distinguish between human voice and noise. Good" enough sound has ensured I never reach for the Kato outside of the house. I ONLY use these on commutes or at the gym. Kato has been downgraded to an at-home set only. While I am a big shill for these as a commute pair, that's where I draw the line. They are good enough for a Zoom call, with mics that just barely do the job.

Once the buds are fully charged and you remove them from the case you will notice each bud has a small LED that will flash red and blue until you connect the buds to your smartphone. Design SoundPeats says the Free2 Classic is IPX5 rated which means sweat and some light rain won’t have an effect on the earbuds but don’t wear them while showering or swimming and do not use it in a sauna or steam room. In fact, it’s obvious that these are budget-friendly headphones; the audio simply doesn’t live up to any kind of hype. And when turned up to a maximum volume level, distortion comes across on all levels. We’re not necessarily saying these are the worst earbuds available, but they’re certainly not as capable as the SoundPEATS Mini Pro.

In terms of sound quality, the SoundPEATS Free2 earphones don’t exactly have the best sound quality, they have an acceptable amount of stereo effect and a powerful dynamic range for all types of music with excellent treble, mid-tones, and bass. Equipped with 6mm dynamic drivers that give you surprisingly clean sound with little to no noise when the ultra-low frequencies let you know where each singer was positioned, the intensity of their voice, and instrument discrimination was good and everything felt very balanced. So the Free2 Classic was great in that regard. The actual earbuds themselves may very well be the best-fitting and most comfortable I’ve ever tried. They just slot in (in one specific way) and fit perfectly. There was no adjusting, no changing rubber bits for the right shape or size, just out of the box comfort. That’s an absolute triumph in itself if we’re being honest.
