You’ll want to determine how much customization and control you want over your projector. Some people love to swap out colors, change nebula presets and create a laundry list of timers. Others simply want to press the power button and go to sleep. Your choice in this area will be a major factor. This is designed for users that appreciate that most of the setup is done for them by way of presets and automated programs. That said, it offers a decent amount of customization within the mobile app to cycle through light effects, start/stop the rotating motion and adjust the brightness. While the controls are limited in the app, most users praise the minimal approach to keep things from getting complicated. With a total of eight nebula effects accompanied by twinkling green stars, this little projector offers an angled projection, letting you place it anywhere in the room for a stellar show. The projector includes a remote control to easily choose your desired effect, as well as an optional timer of 45 or 90 minutes so you won’t have to worry about drifting off and leaving your little buddy on all night long.
You gotta rate these things from the perspective of what you expect. This is Direct-To-Video so it competes with stuff like "The Wild" or "The Reef." Kids direct-to-video is a wasteland of unwanted, unwatchable horrors. So imagine my surprise at these "buddies" movies. I mean, they aren't bad. The plots are coherent, they have some legit jokes kids and adults will find funny, and the cinematography and effects aren't awful. The film starts as Buddha (Field Cate) and his owner, Sam ( Nolan Gould), are star-gazing. As a shooting star passes, Sam makes a wish that he can touch the moon. The next day is the day of his school field trip to Vision Enterprises to watch a test launch of the Vision 1 spacecraft. However, since no pets are allowed to go, he has to leave Buddha at home. Buddha meets up with his siblings, Budderball (Josh Flitter), RoseBud (Liliana Mumy), B-Dawg (Skyler Gisondo), and MudBud (Henry Hodges), and invites them to come with him to go to see the test launch. They hide in the school bus, which soon arrives at the Vision Enterprises. The dogs go to a space-suit machine and put on space-suits before following the students, who are being led by Dr. Finkel (Kevin Weisman). The dogs get aboard the space shuttle Vision 1. At Mission Control in the Vision enterprises, Pi ( Bill Fagerbakke) confirms they are ready for launch. Meanwhile, the dogs take a close look around until they are sealed in the shuttle, which prepares for launch. Astro (Ali Hillis), who will be piloting the shuttle from Earth, launches the shuttle, and it flies to space. I don't even think that was a joke. It was meant to be something serious. There's this one character who suddenly becomes a villain out of absolutely nowhere. The visuals are simply terrible. Whenever the pups are on the Moon, you can easily tell they're just ugly CGI models. The worst thing about the movie is probably the lip movement. We get these creepy lines coming from their mouths. Look at the "Babe" movies and see how they did it much better. I guess it didn't help I hadn't seen most of the other movies. This was a sequel or I guess a spin off of Air Bud. Disney stopped making direct to video animated sequels at this point but they still had some awful live-action ones left. For those that want to bring the awe and splendor of the night sky into their homes, night light star/galaxy projectors are the way to go. Dimmable with thirteen colors, we like the option for lots of different settings, but some find the green stars to be a little out of place.
