DMC is planning to run Anchor as a “separate brand”. This could include totally separate delivery, dispatch, and customer service departments too (saving those redundancies), and they could be using the 12 months to build up that architecture.

When Michaels and JoAnns started selling Anchor on a spool, I bought all the colors after stitching a sampler with Anchor on a spool. I have used DMC for 60 years and I found I love Anchor on a spool. You get more for your money (as DMC prices have really gone up and there is more yards on an Anchor spool then in a DMC skein), you don’t have to pull from a skein that usually tangles, after cutting your length, you can wrap the strands your are not using around the spool – the only problem I have found with Anchor is when using one thread, you can’t frog the whole strand as it will shred!
