He reaches up and runs his hand through my hair. The look on his face says he’s wanted to do that all night—maybe even since he met me." With a sigh, I look down at my newest Breenket. “Well, magic eight ball, what do you think? Should I tell my best friend I love her?” Jake and I both forget we are grown adults and catapult apart on my loveseat so fast you would think we just got caught making out in a closet during a Sunday School class.” The Matchwas a wholesome romantic comedy about two individuals who fall in love in an unconventional way. Ladies, I’d you don’t take any other advise from me, listen to these words because they are the most important you will ever hear: if a sexy man is in a pool and smiling at you like Jake is smiling at me, don’t waste a single moment standing on the side.”

But the thing about quiet people is, we’re only quiet because our brains are so busy overthinking everything.” What?? Me? No. I was kidding. I’d never eat that many. That would be soooo unhealthy.’ That means she actually ate five.’” There's still some emotional aspects to this story. The main character has epilepsy, works with service dogs, and has the most adorable service dog, but her parents are far from likable.Sometimes a woman is just worn out and needs a break, you know?” The lines on her forehead deepen. “That doesn’t prove that you’re weak or neglectful, it proves to all the women standing by and watching you pave the road to success that it’s okay to say no. It’s okay to shut your door every now and then and put up a sign that says Busy taking care of me today. Piss off.” It seems to me, Annie, that you are just waiting for someone to give you permission to be yourself out loud.” Now I'm just left feeling like I wasted my time and my five dollars. I started this review with three stars, but now, it only gets two; one star for the humor, one star for service dogs. That's all I'm willing to give. Even Hallmark doesn't want this. If I waited until I felt confident to live my life and do the things I want to do, I’d never live.” He stares into my eyes. “This lesson is one as old as time: Fake it till you make it. If you want something, pretend you’re the kind of person who’s not scared of it.” All across the USA, people are showing up dead. The deaths don't appear to be connected in any way until one particular death occurs and gets the Secretary of Defense's attention. He arranges for a task force to investigate.

Something about it sounds oddly monotone, robotic, and almost…rehearsed. “Oh no. Looks like we blew a fuse! I guess we’ll have to light some candles. Nathan, you around here? Need a candle, buddy?”When Nathan’s voice reaches me, low and quiet, I almost think I’ve heard him wrong. “Yeah, but that was when it was just fake.” I’m terrified to admit that holding her in my arms is the closest I’ve come to feeling truly happy in a very long time.” I’m happy to hear that! I hope your mood switches. I wonder what we could have you read to change it…

Each character has an unfortunate past, Evie struggles to live under her parents thumb, whereas Jake still has a lot of resentment towards Sam’s mum for abandoning their family, but together it seems at though they can make each other whole again and really truly become a family. But he seems to have never gotten the memo as after several days of working together he starts looking at her with fiery eyes. This makes her dream of things she probably should not be thinking about. This book revolves around Evie, this lovable character works for Southern Service Paws training service dogs and matching them with owners who need them, when one day this role puts her standing in front of single dad Jake and his epileptic daughter Sam. Jake is reluctant to let Evie into their lives for many reasons, he’s worried about getting Sam a service dog, and worried for himself because Evie could be all too easy to fall for. Adams always dreamed of growing up to become an author from when she was little, but it took quite a while before she attained her dream. There's also of course a dinner with dear old mom and dad to manufacture some conflict at the end, which is so badly written and unsubtle it's embarrassing. Jake takes the bait of course but he's Prince Perfect so he IMMEDIATELY and without even any therapy realizes with intense emotional clarity what went wrong and how he messed up. It also suddenly implies he's insecure about being a hotshot architect owning his own busy firm and owning a catalog perfect house just because Evie's parents have a McMansion. Not sure if he was just invaded by the body snatchers for that chapter but it was wildly out of character, such as his cardboard cutout character is. Note: contains romance (a few steamy kisses), talk of butts (non-sexual), manipulative family relations, seizures associated with epilepsy. Really quite clean.

YAY!! This makes me so happy to hear that you loved it too. I can’t wait to read the next book with you! A lot has changed over the years as she now runs and owns a popular bakery in town and plans to show him just how successful she is. But there is one problem, Ryan is still very handsome and he was not supposed to come after her like the sexy guided missile he is.However. Having read 4 books by this author now, it feels a bit repetitive. The woman is flat broke. The man has a good job, is wealthy, and obviously ripped. I honestly couldn't tell you the character names from her two books in the Nashville series, because to me they were interchangeable with the characters in this book. If you're tired and had a rough day and only have one functioning brain cell left to use, definitely give this a read. Some of the lines are so funny I didn't even notice the thin plot. While writing is something that Sarah always dreamed of doing, it would take many years before she achieved the goal. It was not until she had two children that she started writing.
