His name is Matt, he’s cute, and he’s not giving off any douchebag vibes. Not only is he somewhat sober, but he also speaks in full sentences and hasn’t said the word “broski” even once since we started talking. Or rather, since he started talking. I haven’t said much, but I’m perfectly content to stand there and listen, because it gives me time to admire his chiseled jawline and the adorable way his blond hair curls under his ears. Logan and Grace’s relationship wasn’t easy in the beginning, but I loved that all the pesky relationship drama was over with sooner rather than later. It’s a relief not to have all that happening right at the end of the book! Logan is one of those characters that I connected to immediately. He had so much depth and was willing to sacrifice so much for family and for those that he loved. He was completely devoted and a stand up guy. There were times in the first half that Grace irked me, but overall she was a great character too. I kind of love that she didn’t give in to Logan so easily. I also loved that she was supportive of him and what he felt he needed to do with his life after college.

Holy shit,” I blurt out. “You shaved the beard.” I glare at Garrett. “Why didn’t you tell me? I would’ve thrown us a party.” Logan and Grace start to date but then Logan sort of admits that he is trying to get over someone else and is using Grace to do so. Grace becomes really upset and the two of them break up.

I know, it's kind of hard to explain how my brain works and why I gave the book I liked more less stars, but I'll give you briefly my reasons. Look, I’m not an idiot. I know she’s in love with Garrett. I see the way she looks at him, and I see how they are together. They’ve been a couple for six months now, and not even I, the worst friend on the planet, can deny they’re perfect for each other. Grace tries to rally with a list of 6 Grand Gestures for Logan to complete, the first of which is a poem:

The next day, Logan is worrying about the encounter. Grace has told one of her friends, Ramona, who has then gone on to tell the entire friendship group and none of them believe that Logan was actually in Grace’s room. Elle Kennedy has taken a time where people develop into who they will become. She has stripped it down to the basics and made it relatable. I was able to put myself into these people's lives and be there with them every step of the way through their POVs. The drama and issues are things which many may have experienced in their own lives...here we just get to see how it can just come together and be good. Besides, it’s not like I haven’t had opportunities to lose my virginity this year. Since I came to Briar University, my best friend has dragged me to more parties than I can count. Guys have flirted with me, sure. A few of them straight up tried to seduce me. One even sent me a picture of his penis with the caption “It’s all yours, baby.” Which was…fine, it was super gross, but I’m sure if I’d truly liked him, I might have been, um, flattered by the gesture? Maybe?

Grace is able to meet Garrett and Hannah and get to know them which Logan really likes because they’re his best friends. Grace is fighting new experiences too...she is feeling like she is only following in Romona's footsteps...the only friends she has made are Romona's and she doesn't even like them all that much. They have caused her distress and she is thinking maybe this roommate thing with her childhood friend is not the best. His jaw drops. “Narcissist? More like realist. Look at these abs, Wellsy. Actually, touch them. Seriously. It will change your life.” Babe, you’ve gotta stop revealing all your crazy up front. Seriously. Save all that stuff for later, when you’re in a relationship with the guy and it’s harder for him to run away.” Grace Ivers is an introverted freshman with a mild case of OCD that's as endearing as she is quirky. Prone to babbling when she gets nervous, I knew just after a few short lines that I'd love her. Her internal dialogue never failed to bring a goofy smile to my face.
