About this deal

There are areas of the Ghost’s treble that really wowed me. I’m very surprised by just how much detail these headphones were able to handle. The Ghost takes a lot of high-end frequency content and outputs them with clear organization and stability. These frequencies can get pretty hot, but the limit that it exercises on harsh and piercing tones makes it so the timbre always softens up. Sometimes there’s a blissful ring to some of the frequencies, and other times they add a smooth sheen that tails off the ends of certain sounds. Summary

If you like deep and enveloping richness to come from drums or bass lines, then the HD560s may be a bit disappointing. Unlike the Ghost, Sennheiser went with tightness and accuracy letting the sub-bass naturally roll off with the mid-bass maintaining a less forward and punchy performance. As a result, I found multiple considerations (hearing loss, my usual listening level, equal loudness) have been factored in. I could see these having quite a cult following. Having cans like these can only help lower the cost of other high end cans and thats good for everybody.

The fork is made of a single piece of metal but since it also acts as the sliding mechanism to adjust the size of the Ghost, Thieaudio, unfortunately, went with no front-to-rear swivel feature. At least it can pivot vertically even though it is limited to a few degrees of freedom. The Thieaudio Ghost have been sent to me by Linsoul in exchange for the publication of this review. They have not made any specific requests or comments and, as always, I will do my best to be as unbiased and sincere as humanly possible.

Without doubt, for their price, the Ghost are a ridiculously capable headphone. I would strongly recommend these to anyone who already owns 5+ pairs of headphones & is interested in experiencing their music collection in 'chill' mode but there are a few notes of caution: Immediately after learning about the makeup of the drivers, I was then greeted with several tests showing the critical advantage of why they went through the effort. These aren't edgy in definition, it's smooth and liquid, while sharpness come mostly from upper treble part above 8khz. There some darkness in treble too, that tame treble texture brightness and grain, so it's a bit organic timbre wise, but this help to preserve and even boost sens of transparency. Linsoul Audio is a leading audio products provider, offering a wide range of high-quality audio products to consumers worldwide. With products ranging from earbuds, headphones and amplifiers, to DACs and digital audio players, Linsoul Audio has something to offer everyone. Universally hated and detested by forum moderators. They keep me around because (unfortunaly) I got grandfathered in.The Ghost is dwarfed by 10mm comparing the two’s driver size even though the Void still manages to keep day-to-day usage in mind by staying at an easy-to-use 64W and 110dB efficiency level. Design

Unless played loudly, the stage of the Ghost is not going that far off the edge of the drivers. The stage may be small but it is equipped enough to let important aspects shine. At the end of the day, if you’re looking for a super dynamic, mostly comfortable pair of headphones with good dynamics, great detail, and at an entry-level price point of 130 USD, with a punchy sound, ThieAudio Ghost is an excellent option and with the outstanding support of Linsoul should make a super fun experience. So whilst these don’t have the most exciting treble performance out there, they have good tonality up top and it’s composed without every becoming troublesome. The nice thing about the treble here is that, whilst slightly subdued, the Ghost is not missing detail or air at all.

The build quality is not the best but it is not terrible either. They have opted for metal yolks which seem to be very sturdy and well assembled, yet the plastic on the cups is a little cheap feeling, as are the plastic covers to the adjustment sliders. The pads are very similar to the Sennheiser pads but a little softer, just like the headband, which is nicely padded and very soft to the touch. That means that I am certainly not judging these headphones as “for the money”, as I don’t know how much “the money” will be. It’s always fun to have a guess and then see how wrong I am. Firstly, you have to go in knowing that regardless of what anyone may say or price, no single headphone can do it all, your experience will differ depending on audio source; genre of music, how it is recorded, your ear size and how you hear.

Our Verdict

And this sure benefit the soundstage, which is tall, wide and deep, not Sennheiser HD820 wide and deep, but not far from it. Headroom is sure bigger than both my Hifiman HE400i and Sundara. The ST-Amp made the low-end section push a grander impact tweaking the Ghost to become less dry and boring. Having all these excess energies softens the diffusion causing scenes to not be as exacting. Thirdly, do not expect industry leading robust fit & finish; they are not flimsy by any standard but as with most headphones you have to treat them with respect. I personally use them as 'in home' headphones. There are two main things one can take out of the box after it has been opened. The first is a nimble hard case where the Ghost and accessories dwell and the second is the user manual.
