About this deal

DX3 Pro is using XMOS XU208 + 2 x AK4493 + OPA1612 to support up to 32bit768kHz PCM decoding and DSD512 native decoding of USB input. Besides, DX3 Pro has 2 x Coaxial and 1 x Optical input which support up to 24bit192kHz PCM decoding. DX3 Pro also has bluetooth input which support SBC, ACC, APTX, APTX-II, APTX-HD transmission. Thanks for the advice! So I take it that even though DX90 has more drive power the AK120 II will have no problem driving the T51p? Pair it with a good set of headphones (Meze or Beyer) or some nice IEMs (those yummy GE800) and you’ll be set up for years! A no-brainer, outperforming almost every DAC/Amp available at the time of writing , giving you the perfect setup on a go! The silver color reviewed here has a very sleek appeal with four fairly tall feet holding the unit upright giving a floating effect that further accentuates the polish of the metal. My very limited understanding is that there is always a trade off between the technically most perfect impluse response and most perfect frequency response. So linear slow filters give the best impulse response but are terribly leaky for out of band frequencies )the yellow on your first pic). Sharp filters (like f1) are messy in the time domain but offer the best attenuation of out of band frequencies.

What a nice little unit the Angel is! EarMen promised a lot but in this case they absolutely delivered. So yes, this DAC/AMP goes directly in my recommendation list, and if you’re out for a dongle DAC , you should definitely try this one first, or at least add it to your list.Topping manages to squeeze the controls of the DX3 Pro+ GUI using only the volume knob. There is a small learning curve using this method but it is fairly intuitive after going through each menu at least once. Once again, the brand didn’t reinvent the wheel and took all the good points found in the basic and plus version, and polished them. Balanced circuit with a 4.4mm output, Bluetooth chipset, no more channel imbalance, and the same sound signature. Add a mind-blowing bundle with an excellent price/performance ratio.

In terms of overall sound signature, DX3 Pro is very neutral, almost transparent with great dynamics and detail retrieval.

Quite a similar situation on the vocal region as it doesn’t add unneeded sweetness or flavor for a simple flat delivery. Detail retrieval is a balance of great vocal textures in throaty characters only to lose the breathiness on some parts. Designing some of the best DACs and AMPs in terms of cost-to-benefit ratio are these products. Dedicated engineers and audiophiles make up their R&D team. In addition, they have made significant investments in the most up-to-date audio testing equipment, such as the Audio Precision APx555. So yes, this DAC/AMP goes directly in our recommendation list, and if you’re out for a TOTL on the cheap, you should definitely try this one first, or at least add it to your list. Adapt to every listening situation with the DX3 Pro+’s four output modes: headphone amp, headphone amp + DAC, DAC, and preamplifier. Product highlights FR will always be affected, but at some point it'll be by such a small amount you just won't be able to hear it.

In that white box, you’ll get a remote control, which may come handy, especially if you plan to use the DX3 Pro in your stereo setup with no remote to control the volume. Also included is a mediocore, cheap power supply, usb cable and an antenna for bluetooth. I assume that everyone of you already have a smartphone – you may even be reading that review with one – which mean that you have a very potent source in your hand. Give this source the gift of a (short) lifetime, and pair a FiiO Q7 with it/him/her, it’ll be worth every penny. Headphones: OG AB-1266 Abyss, Abyss Diana V2,Abyss Diana TC,ZMF Verite Cocobolo, ZMF Atrium Cocobolo ,Ether-C, HD-800,HE-500,HE-400,HE-400S,HE-5XX,Sundara,Edition XS,HD-6xx,ESP-950,99 Classics,AKG 872,240 Sextett’s,240 Monitors,Fostex TX-0,TR-X00,Brainwavz Alara,Koss Porta ProIt only took three versions for us to finally get our hands on Topping’s entry-level DAC/Amp combo, the DX3 Pro+. And since this unassuming little box is priced very competitively for the number of features it offers, it is one of those “better late than never” kinds of moments. Still very confused as to what I'm seeing here. Ik I want no enhancements so I'd prioritize the original sound, but I see some things I don't understand: Setup was plug-and-play and I was relieved to see full compatibility with ASIO4ALL at 24 bit depth allowing me to proper test the unit without installing any drivers. Listening tests were performed using WASAPI interface in Roon.

There are selectable gains for the headphone out (0 and 9 dB) and filter settings. The unit supports PCM up to 768 kHz and up to DSD512. For output impedance: tons of options with 250Ω headphones like your DT 990 Pro's. But if you plan to get different headphones down the line you may want to look at amps that have <2Ω output impedance. I have really enjoyed using the EarMen Colibri. I was a bit afraid of its size but in reality, it’s still small and it doesn’t bother you at all when on the go.

The heart of the unit is the AKM AK4493 DAC chip. This is a departure from most of the Topping DACs (and many Chinese manufacturers) which use ESS DACs. Flapping of the cups was to come though the moment I switched to HiFiman HE-400i. Power was amazing and clarity was superb. As I type this review I have been listening to this setup and it could not be more satisfying. I care a lot about transient accuracy for subtle mix work, but in hardware the terminology is not so clear to me and I assume there's more to it... In summary, which of the three options is best suited to my needs, and should I jump on the DX3 Pro now or wait for 11/11 sale? Other wise, Dx3 pro+ is the best for most of the Single ended headphone except power Hungry headphones.
