There is simply nothing else like this on the market. And nothing this badass. The modern fragrance market is saturated with overly sweet, metrosexual, generic men’s fragrances. This is not for a teen or anyone in their 20’s. I would say it is for 35+ years of age. EDT’s are not as highly concentrated in oils and elixirs as an EDP or Perfume would be and contain one to three per cent of fragrance oils. This impacts the ability of the fragrance to last and around eighty percent of the oils in an EDT fragrance will evaporate within three hours of application. I am no expert but to me Aramis is the Aristocrat Grandad of TDH. The scent is fuller more mature and more earthen. It has reasonable to good projection and lasts through the day. Aramis, Aramis, Aramis, how much have you been reformulated? Too much. In all seriousness, the smell has changed, but the main thing that has changed is the performance. It is still good, but no longer beast mode. Anyways, this is a chypre so understand that going in. This is OLD, very old. It is beyond dated, it's just old. So if you are old, go for it, more power to you. If you are younger than 60, only buy this if you know you want it. I personally only wear this lounging around in the fall and winter. I don't hate oakmoss, but it is no longer sexy for your average man, especially in this frag. Although this seems like a dark scent from the main notes, it's not very dark at all. It opens very floral and aromatic with mostly the aldehydes, not my fav. It stays floral throughout, even powdery. I have been told it smells like an old lady and a baby at the same time. So if you want to smell like that, go for it.As it evolves it becomes much more earthy with the oakmoss and leather dominating the drydown in a soft way. For an oakmoss dominant frag, this is not very manly imo, very soft. Nonetheless, it is a comforting smell that I don't mind wearing around people that don't mind it, my good friends; as such that is the only time I wear it. While I'll admit to sometimes giving myself a few spritzes when I'm home alone on a cold fall or winter day just to remember the warmth and affection my late father absolutely radiated when he wore this, it is unquestionably a Man's Man fragrance. I consider it both ageless and timeless.

This is an absolute powerhouse fragrance that if you're younger will absolutely require confidence to wear.I recall that the after-shave version of Aramis is really very refreshing and goes on quite cool, warming slightly afterward, but nicely neutral temperature-wise on the skin. This is why there's often so much negativity & down-voting when someone like ourselves, brings this to light. The opening is a pleasant masculine herbal medley that is somewhat soapy and reminiscent of Jaguar for Men (green), only much smoother and less screechy than the Jaguar. The basil and wormwood are the prominant notes. oooooooohhhhh ........ ARAMIS = men's testosterones in a bottle; masculinity encased in this transparent crystal tower with the golden emblem "ARAMIS" in the front; can anyone ask for a more masculine, alpha male fragrance?? ...... and yet, despite reformulations, the fragrance keeps its integrity, solid personality, strong character and the image of a gentleman with a recognisable sophistication and high status; a few fragrances can be put on the same pedestal, those like ARAMIS that survived the winds of change and yet they maintain their pedigree and deep roots in the real man's lifestyle image.

Aramis" is liquid masculinity. It is a relaxing bubble bath in the warm urine of Arnold Schwarzenegger after a six-hour workout at Gold's Gym. It is a bitch slap in the nutbag from a platoon of Navy SEALs. It is Tim Allen grunting "arrr arrr arrr!" on a continuous loop until the end of time. At 34 minutes and 11 seconds into the movie, Bond takes a bath in the tub while on the phone with his friend Felix Leiter, while a large bottle of Aramis Classic rests on the metallic silver-colored table to the bottom left of the screen.

Don't believe in innocent purposes with Aramis - this fragrance has carnal intentions. As it begins to dry, the aroma of heavily worn suede emerges, mainly through the amazingly creamy and smoky accord of the leather constituent components. Dare I suggest they are castoreum, juniper and birch tar? The base notes join forces with the initial cumin note as if they were the big, strong arms of a gigantic father made of leather, delivering us a bear hug. Recently retested the new formula and I found it to be very close to the original. To me it’s like Piguets Bandit with less noticeable jasmine. It’s basic accord is “mossy, bitter green, leathery, ashy smoke” There are plenty of citrus 'freshies' to enjoy in the summer heat & some classics out there in that category too......but Aramis is not such, nor should it be.
